What to Meld for dragoon

Hi guys I just came back from a long break and see that I have new gear that can be melded Now I have the neck from midian normal mode and an eikon ring of slaying was just wondering where I can find whats best to meld for each piece or if any knows and can fill me in thanks!

Other than that... Save grade Vs for 240 raid gear. One exception being if you get the 220 crafted chest which won't be replaced until a8s chest.

Most of the melds are going to be crit. A few acc and skill speed depending. Det IVs are kind of weak (only +6 instead of +9), but you can still throw a few pieces on. Crit is always the answer unfortunately... Until they add more secondary stats, which they never will lol

VIT is actually not a joke suggestion. For progression pieces, while building toward an A8S kill, Vitality is /not/ a wasted materia slot on your accessories. You trade out marginal gains* in secondary stats for gains to your overall survivability. If you ever die by less than 1000 damage, just remember that 5 VIT V melds is ~1500 bonus health. This is aided by the fact that, on my server at least, the main stat materia is way cheaper than the sub-stat ones.

*Marginal gains
12 Crit = 2.76 Strength
9 Crit = 2.07 Strength
12 Det = 2.02 Strength
12 Sks = 1.57 Strength
9 Sks = 1.18 Strength
6 Det = 1.01 Strength

1-3 Strength is incredibly tiny when we have 1100-1300 Strength with 1300 secondary stats allocated.

You'll get a much larger dps loss by tanking the floor due to 1500 less health in A8S.

Min-max dps yes Acc to cap > Materia in the order above ^

This is good to know! I was planning to do this with my MNK anyway after accidentally melding VIT onto my Slaying accessory. I guess it was worth it lol.

Wow Thanks for all the info guys guess ill look to do some vit/crit into my accessories maybe some det thrown in depending lol took a really long break and I came back and raid gear is all like you meld on us I was like holy mother of gawd!

VIT is only useful if you're doing endgame progression in A8S while being sub-225-230 or so. The world first had their dps with 19k across the board (and 17k on the BLM, who has higher mdef), so it's likely they almost /needed/ that much to pull it off.
