I had those for so long, and just recently let them go...
This wouldn't be a replacement for those systems, but just a new one... Could be problematic, in terms of who could go do the fight, and I think it should just be limited to the person who kicks off the duty, rather then worry about the whole party. Much like they did in 1.0, but with those tokens, that just made you eligible for the drops, didn't keep you from the content. I think here, anyone would be able to get the drop, you'd just need to "unlock it" and that would be done via the party leader.

I used to love running BCNM fights. And they were not like ex primals which are very straightforward fights. BCNM usually had to be approached tactically not just learn a rotation and burn as you do it. Some were burns yes, royal jellies for instance, but most required tactics.
If they didn't outdate them every few months it wouldn't be such a big undertaking either.
A moblin maze monger type system would be great too, those were a hoot. To bad the NA groups usually only did them for exp, if you built mazes and completed objectives they could be really great.
They were much simpler fights then ex primals. Most of the fights a group of enemies that had to be kept slept by a bard or blm while you picked them off one by one. I wouldn't call sleeping a group of mandies with lullaby on bard while you kill them one at a time a good fight.I used to love running BCNM fights. I really do not want this.
I'd actually support this.
Supply a turn in system for tokens that you aren't going to use, or make them drop from specified roulettes. Then make a fight cost 10 tokens and make them drop something decent or glamour-y. Maybe a "BCNM" token that allows you to turn in for a dungeon armor drop of your choice or something. Something useful for gearing new jobs, but not game breaking. Make it casual and fun content.
plus SE doesnt need to add anything , just add some attack patterns to mobs and put some interesting mechanics
examples , the slime queen in FFXI bcnm , usually perfect for rngs but any1 with some burst dps was welcomed, that bcnm was tons of fun , lots of slimes coming from the outside to gather at the center of the bcnm , a mage binding and graviting (heavy in FFXIV) , so dps could kill the slimes before they got to the center , at the end it poped a boss based around the number of slimes....
the 3 boxes bcnm , u need to choose wich one to attack , only 1 is a treasure the others are mimics
the sea monk that u need to kill the tentacles....
lots of fun and engaging bcnms, the issue here is only a few jobs have CC (sleep) , only a few can silence ,and only a few can slow / stun ....but if some bcnms are lvl 30ish or 40ish...im sure ppl wont mind leveling a job for it.... lots of ppl leveled BST for doing bcnms , same for BLM ...or rdm...
I support this idea. To base it off a system that's currently in place, they could make the bcnm's more advanced versions of guildhests, with rare crafting mats, minions, songs, etc. being drops. As mentioned before, any new battle content would be welcome at this point.
Alternatively, I'd also very much like a tiered system of nm's from maps or leves, similar to the 1.x guildleves, wherein you could unlock the next tier of nm or leve through either a rare drop or number of tokens acquired.
