Kabzy is right on one point, SCH has the best sustained DPS of all three heal
Whm got the best burst, but maintaining it kill your mana.
And AST... Well... Medium dps and not so good mana efficiency in DPS.

On sephirot EX there is not so much DPS windows for heal (color phase in p3 and the whole P1 for the off-heal if the main heal can solo it... Like diurnal AST)
Otherwise you need a shit ton of heal during that fight XD

This is an issue itself... I realize he did say later that he has a lot to learn, but you should really know this stuff before thinking of being one. It just seems off to me.

I mean, it's not a question about how to play the class even, but asking if it is even a useful class...

Although my goal isn't to be an endgame healer, I do commit myself fully to a role when I play it and do want to understand the mechanics. My goal of course is to use this as a platform to become a mentor, but that doesn't mean I'm not going to take it seriously.

I also feel given what i've heard that this is fundamentally easier to play than other healing roles, at least for a beginner. I figure if this is true, it would make more sense to learn healing in the whm environment first.

Put simply, it's not just about getting a nice shiny crown next to my name
