    Macro Problem

    Platform: Windows
    ISP: Time Warner Cable
    Type of Internet Connection: Cable
Internet Connection Speed: I have no idea, its cable and its fast enough and has no effect on this issue.
Date & Time: This has been happening since 1.19. All day every day since then.
    Frequency: Always
    Character Name: Cup Cake
    Race: Miqo'te
    World: Lindblum
Class/Skill Rank: Every class and rank.
    Area and Coordinates: Happens everywhere.
Party or Solo: It happens 100% of the time regardless of in a party or solo.
    NPC Name: None
    Monster Name: None
In-Game Time: Happens 100% of the time no matter what time in game it is.
    Steps:
If I change any macros or make new ones they do not register as being changed.
    I will try to explain.
    Changing a Macro.
    1) Say I was going to change an equipment macro for a new weapon. (Example. /equip mh "Steel Dolabra" to /equip mh "Plumed Mythril Pickaxe")
    2) So I go in and replace /equip mh "Steel Dolabra" with /equip mh "Plumed Mythril Pickaxe" in the macro config. And then I exit out of the macro config.
    3) When I go and hit the macro. it will say /equip mh "Steel Dolabra" which is what the macro used to be instead of what it is now which is /equip mh "Plumed Mythril Pickaxe".
    4) When I recheck the macro config it shows my change in the config but when I hit the macro it still uses the old macro.
*Note* This happens with every macro regardless of any changes I make to them. And the macro config shows every change Ive made to them but its been over a week now and it still uses the old macros from a week ago.

    Creating a New Macro.
1)So if I would like to create a new macro, I go into the macro config and make my macro.
    2) I exit the macro config and go to hit the macro. And The new macro I just made is not on the macro bar, it never shows up.
    3) I recheck the config and it shows the macro is made in there but the bar never updates to show it so I cannot use it.
*Note* Ive tried hitting the macro even though it does not show up on the bar but it does not work.

I dont know how macros are really saved in game. But it seems like my old macros are like saved in the system somehow and no matter how I change them in the macro config the changes do not take effect. I think it is important to say that when I log out of the game and back in again all the changes I made to the macros still show in the config even though the changes have not taken effect with the macros yet.

It doesn't look like an in-game bug since macros are working correctly for everybody else. May I suggest to post this issue at Technical Support forum? You should get more accurate help by posting there, I guess...

Thanks for the advice but I am going to keep it here for now. It looks like the technical support forum is more for client crashing and stuff like that.

Ok first things first; this doesn't make sense. When you say "macro bar" do you mean the action bar? Second, what are you using to set off your macros; standard keyboard, a Game pad like a Logitech G13? Also, a screen shot would be really helpful to post so we can see what you see. As Umo said, this is not system wide therefore this usually dictates a local issue either with your PC or with a mistake in the setting of the macro. And I assume with your Level, you have done this before? Third, you can not add actions such as casts or attack moves to a macro without having them in your action bar; either rows.

I know personally, I had just redone about 11 or so Macros this weekend and had no issues.

The Macro bar is different from the action bar as they are 2 different bars. Also I am using a normal keyboard to trigger them. If you read the problem it is equipment macros and it is not my fault they are all correct. I make a macro in the macro config and literally it does not show up on the bar so I cannot trigger it. And before you ask I am not stupid I checked every bar to just make sure. The macro is perfect and its not my PC. If it was a problem with the macro it would still show up on the bar.

So I found a post somewhere about something similar to this issue and their solution worked. I deleted the macro file and let it make a new one and remade all my macros and everything works perfectly again. I guess something was wrong with the file or something. Iono all I know is it is fixed now ^^.
