    I made quite a few friends there and I think it would be tough for me to just leave everything behind and start completely fresh just because I can't get a few pieces of loot. However, the idea of changing servers slipped through my mind and it was mostly of pure curiosity whether it would be easier to gear up/find a decent group to roll with there.

    They absolutely could change it just by making it where each person gets to roll on their own items. How would this be better you ask? It's simple, you clear A8 and open a chest just for you, that chest has 3 random drops that you can roll on, but you only get 1 item and you must roll on all 3. By keeping the current lockout you'd still need 4 items for a chest piece plus this method doesn't promise that after each reset you'll see a Midan Shaft, you might get a chest with two Midan Cranks and One Spring. Plus with having to roll on all 3 you're only going against yourself and might not even roll high on the item you want. I never understood why the loot distribution in this game rewards only one person when 97% of the content requires you to clear with a team. Even sports championships reward players who didn't even play the game a ring.

    Consolation for participation. Run it 10 times (without achieving your weekly item drop) to get items called scraps to trade in for a specific drop you want. Maybe scrap pieces of midas 1-4 for a gobbie who happens to find these weekly drops on his excavations. grinding for scraps will be halted after achieving the max number of 10 scraps or attaining the daily part from the 1 floor. No reason to not have it this way to begin with actually. -_-

    It should be that every clear awards a guaranteed drop, such as a Midan Cog (for Alex Midas). 20 Midan Cogs should be tradeable for whichever tarnished Midan item that you would like to purchase. This requires effort to be put into earning your drops, but also ensures that with the right amount of effort you will be rewarded by receiving the drop you were after even if you had really bad luck with RNG.

    Right now for for items that drop 100% (or very frequently) you have a chance of getting what you want on the first run. But if they change things to always use a token system, people will be forced to run that content X times to get the same item. We're all unlucky with some drops, but at the same time I'm sure we've also all got something on our first try as well... do you really want to lose that chance?

    Yes they could make it so you get the drop randomly OR after X runs, but SE are not going to want to do that, they want people to keep running the content (partly to stop people complaining about slow duty finder/no one running it, but also because they want people to be have a reason to stay subscribed/something to do).

    Sure it'd be nice if the drop rates were higher, but where would the fun be if we got everything in a few weeks?

    That depends of how the path is set to require the items.
    If you get the gear only by rolling against 7 others which have the same need as you, then you are in for a long ride of frustrations.

    Done about 15 runs of A5 yesterday, about half of of the time there were two bolts in the chests. I have gotten not. a. single. one. of. them. due to my rolls being much lower than 50.

    That stuff just drains the motivation and fun out of it.

    What are you talking about? We still have the chance of getting it on the first try or random times. We just now have a ability to get the item after 10 successful runs. Its fair, and everyone has enough time to get their item instead of running something 20 times for a drop. If you like bashing your ahead against a wall for an hour 1/2 for some spring then be my guest. Its bs. No other way to put it.
