these mounts are supposed to be rare, whats the point of them if everyone had them? they could have just mailed it as a veteran reward if it was meant for everyone.

I remember on an older MMO people had a theory that each character made is assigned a loot chance flag or number, eg 1-100. 1 being Super unlucky and 100 getting all the drops every time. So far i feel im almost around 10 on that scale, its totally made up ofc but it does make you wonder how the game decided RNG.
Also noticed those who seem to wait 2-3 mins to roll always get high numbers not every single time but its funny how they do it...maybe some sort of exploit?
Ah the classic "rig the loot system for only me" post. You win some, you lose some. Your sub fee does not entitle you to get every drop whenever you want. Ive ran 200+ extremes since patch, seen 10 whistles, almost won 2, have none. I'm not going to whine for SE to change the entire loot structure because my number didn't come up. Don't play an MMO if you're not okay with it.
Probably gonna get lynched for saying this, but I used to play WoW (an many other mmos like Guild Wars, SWTOR etc.) for a couple of years and no one E.V.E.R complained about loot system there. I don't remember running one dungeon for 20 or even 10 times to get my stuff. The RNG system here is absurd and many people will agree on that. To me it looks like SE developers desperately want to hold us in the game by making you grind for pretty much everything.
200+ runs for a mount is nothing, especially if you farmed every primal. If you did about 675 runs for Ravana mount only like myself and lost it 14 times you would most likely smack your screen with a hammer or quit the game completely. Also, it is not a "rig the loot system for only me" but for thousands of people who struggle and spend hundreds of hours to get only one piece of loot that will eventually get replaced in a week or two.

I can't see Square Enix wanting to do that. They want people to keep running content, partially because it stops people from complaining about nothing to do, but also because they want people to have reasons to keep playing. Also if people weren't running content for whatever reason, duty finder queues would be longer and we'd be complaining about that... If you get everything "rare" in a few weeks, what's are you going to do after that? Complain about how there's nothing rare in the game for you to get? And how is anything rare supposed to actually be even remotely rare if everyone can get it within a set time frame?
I know it's a personal opinion, but I think it's fine as-is. You win some, you lose some. It's a game, I don't want everything handed to me after a set number of turns (which amusingly would be a grind since you'd be constantly counting down how many runs are still needed).
First of all, I'm at the stage where all I can do is either running Savage (which is something impossible to do on my server) or farming for useless stuff like primal birds. So yeah there is no "freedom to run, or not run" for me.
If you came here just to tell people that RNG works in your favor and everyone else is a loser, then please leave this thread.
This is because most Western MMOs, like WoW and City of Heroes/Villains, have a failsafe which increases the chance of something good happening based on the number of times that something good didn't happen within a set period of time. Basically, when you have 5,000 players on a server, the likelihood of one player faiiling several times in a row at 90% is very high. Smart games tune the system so that after a set number of failures, you're guarranteed an auto-success.Probably gonna get lynched for saying this, but I used to play WoW (an many other mmos like Guild Wars, SWTOR etc.) for a couple of years and no one E.V.E.R complained about loot system there. FFXIV has no fail safe. That's why we see complaint threads about people failing 95% chances 10+ times in a row, or failing to get items after hundreds of attempts. SE cold fix this, but they feel it's workign as intended. This is technically true, but not necessarily good for player morale.
