The thought of bugging someone just to take time out of what they're doing just to change the house music to something I want to hear but don't have sounds really silly to me.

I prefer the system the way it is. That way I can go from my FC house to my personal house to the Inn room and play the music I have and not have to get 3 copies of the same music to use in all three orchestrions
Pretty sure they meant if people in your fc have it, you can switch to that song too without needing the actual scroll.
Let's say if someone in your FC has titan's (which is like 600k atm) and you want to listen to it but they're not on and don't feel like paying 600k. If that person in your FC has played it at least once on the orchestrion, it should be available at all the orchestrions for your FC members etc. Sort of like, if you've heard it on an orchestrion, you can now use that song on your inn/personal house one too.

Having each character collect their own has three advantages that I can think of:To counter those, there's the disadvantage that you have a more limited assortment of music you can play (at least until you manage to expand your own personal music library).
- As Velox mentioned, you only need one copy rather than 3.
- Collectors have something to collect. Their game isn't appropriated by whichever FC member got to it first. (Though if they still had a collection to gather for the inn room, maybe this part doesn't matter.)
- It adds a social aspect to the orchestrion, that you can gather together in your FC house and share your music with each other. If all the music your FC has access to were just there, without any need for the provider of that music to play it, then it loses that interactivity.
I can see different players preferring either way, but overall I think I agree with SE's decision on this design.

The music scrolls works like mounts, TT cards and minions.
You right click them in the inventory and they get added to the character's collection.
You don't put them into the Orchestrion itself.
Only if the devs do the same with TT cards. If your opponent play out a card you don't have, you get the card after the match just because you saw it.

If they were going to go that far, then they should get rid of the rolls altogether and just have all orchestrions play any music in the game, because at that point the song rolls wouldn't ever be part of most players' game, anyway. Once one person has collected something nobody else needs to is a bad design for an MMO that relies on continuous demand.Let's say if someone in your FC has titan's (which is like 600k atm) and you want to listen to it but they're not on and don't feel like paying 600k. (And yes, that's another common wish. There are quite a few players who were hoping we'd get a feature to select whatever background music we want, without any items to collect to unlock each one. I'm not one of them, since I'm a collector who likes the opportunity to unlock each individually, but I can certainly understand that desire. What doesn't work is having the rolls exist but be completely useless to anyone but the first player in an FC.)
