I vote no for this for 3 reason

    1. As the OP above me said, make ppl grind though boring grind is not a prefer game play

    2. Imo it will simply kill the class or it will become "Have-to-do-after-job-max-out"

    3. as the way the job being develop, they will be as a job, not a class but a job

I personally prefer the way it is set up now. Like Tibian, I too felt the pure disdain as life was sucked from my body as I leveled up one job, only to go back to the exact same places and do it again, and then a third time in Final Fantasy 11. [then to find out my class preferences weren't liked for groups]

There are enough ways to progress through experience only in this game, and go through the exact same content repeatedly.

While we don't know enough about the job system at this time, I do believe it could be a possibility that elements from the class we are leveling is preserved within the job system. What kind of a white mage doesn't use cure? The need to learn how to play as a job surely doesn't require 4 months worth of time [Yoshi P's recommended time, which I think is too long] to cover.

We need fresh ways to experience our character development, and simply grinding through content will not cut it for me. Give me adventure and story instead.

I am concerned as to how this place will look when subscription fees are implemented, and I hope Yoshi considers the majority of us that won't have access to this forum, but do have interest in this game.

Anyway, I've said this multiple times before:

I don't have all the time in the world to invest into XIV, and paying $13 a month to try and progress in XIV when I'm getting nowhere with any of my other classes will ensure that I won't be paying for a subscription for any longer than 3 months.

A majority of players I've been playing with, and my friends both domestically and internationally, want faster progression either to see their numbers rise or just to get to the end-game content. We already have what? 19 different disciplines to level? That's more than enough of a timesink for any player, and to make the monumental task of mastering all those classes even more arduous will only drive people away.

Me? I just want a more engrossing storyline that doesn't involve me slaving away on Antelopes, Naked Moles, Coblyns or Sheep just to have access to another chapter. I don't care what kind of compromises I have to make, I just want that, and also to be able to progress in-game just as steadily as anyone else would if they played XIV full-time. That's it.

May we continue to walk in the light of the crystal and restore Eorzea to its former glory.

I am positive to leveling the class and having the xp linked to the job rather than leveling the job again from lvl 1. Advancing the job through quests looks like a good idea in my opinion. If it was up to me I would have it this way:
    1. Lvl you class to 50 (Just because that's the cap and because jobs haven't been introduced yet)
    2. Your job takes over after 50 and that's what gets xp.
    3. Have quests to unlock AF and abilities from 30 and up to past cap.
This would however make the class system obsolete, I'm not that fond of it though so that would be my preference.

However seeing that SE will probably keep this class system (because it has already been available for a whole year and/or they still think it's a good idea) then the plan that has been announced through interviews sounds more than good in my opinion.

Regardless I am interested to see where it's all going in the end.

I don't really know why people play a mmorpg if they doesn't like to grind.

Poorly reinforced argument...and a poorly structured sentence as well. I don't know how well XIV is holding up in the Eastern market, but if SE wants to appeal to more Western players they're going to have to do something innovative in regards to character progression without sacrificing aesthetic quality.

I vote yes should start from level 1 for the award big for doing less crowd let them earn it even if they don't like the grind. Shoot if they don't they should have all starting classes at begining to start @lvl50 if the grind is to much for people I mean shoot it not like this is a mmo or any type of game were playing right
