Beams of light in Azys La?

I really do hope that there's more to Proto Ultima. I've never seen him in game (that video you posted was the first time I actually saw him flying around) but like you said, we'll have to wait and see.

I wonder if Ultima has anything to do with the reptile dudes in Azys Lla. They do look fairly similar..maybe the reptile things are like infantry assigned to a tank (the tank being Ultima/Proto Ultima, of course). I really wish there was a huge lore book or something for us to chew on inbetween patches ; ;

Edit: I wonder if there will be any wacky gemstone "Weapons" like FF7. Maybe a Cermet Weapon? Cermet is the metal that the Allagans used, right?

In the Quarantine Bay (?) in Azys Lla you can see see many body parts of what appears to be dragon + crystal/heart. I personally believe Proto-Ultima was created via bio-engineering was was put together like so.

It certainly looked a lot more organic compared to the newly excavated Ultima.

We do know that Allagan experimented on dragons. I think the Meracydian Bobniaks were clones/ bio-engineered dragons from a FATE description.

Maybe those repotoids could be related (its foot soldiers?) although I think they might be more related to Zurvan - the Eikon

I can see that happening. I was in Azys Lla for an A rank and flew by the Warring Triad and noticed that Zurvan was holding something that looked a lot like the High Allagan Battle Axe (like the Repotoids use) so it could be true. Kinda hope we can see enemies based on Sephirot and Sophia too if that's the case.

Edit: What the hell are the Sphinx supposed to be? Are they completely mechanical, or are they partially organic? They're pretty strange looking...

Sphinx are meant to be flexible weapon platforms that could be deployed to match and defeat a variety of enemy forces in multiple different environments. Think of them as a jack of all trades, master of none kind of bio-synthetic weapon.

Of course, being mediocre to an Allagan still means any Garlean, Dravanian or Eorzean is gonna get their butts handed to them big time if they face 1 or a team of Sphinx units XD

BTW do the regular spinxes transform or is that only Harmachus in ARF?

As far as I know only Harmachus transforms. I haven't messed with the regular Sphinxes since I first hit 60 back in 3.0 so I might be forgetting.
