Because adding massive amounts of glamour every patch and still having no real solution to storing gear while pretty much every other AAA MMO has either added something akin to a glamour catalog or added extra inventory to accommodate it is my personal problem. Okay.

Again with this laziness idea. I do not enjoy crafting, so I do not partake in crafting. I play this game to enjoy myself, not as a chore. I do enjoy combat, so I do combat. Dungeons are combat, being at a disadvantage in a combat scenario vs a crafter is insane in my view. But maybe that's just me. It is not "laziness". I work for a living and come home to play and have fun, which does not involve crafting.

Shame on me for wanting SE to accommodate differing but legitimate playstyles and not disadvantaging combat focused players in combat scenarios because they don't like to craft and made the unforgivable but unwillful mistake of forgetting to repair and disadvantaging themselves and their group.

Requiring people who enjoy combat but not crafting to craft or suffer ruined runs because of one bout of forgetfulness is wrong. And if saying "crafting will be ruined" is the only "logical" reason you can give for being against this suggestion, all I can say is that it speaks more to what's wrong with crafting than anything else, and that our discussion will not be going anywhere.

Where's my free repairing in dungeons for risking my life for lazy Eorzea then?

I recall delivering fruit to NPCs and such because they were too lazy to do it themselves for crying out loud.

Nobody force you to repair in dungeons, but you want to force NPCs to repair in dungeons. So the NPC should get a "I risk my life for you" extra fee

Sorry if putting Mr. Mender in a little bit of danger after saving the world time and time again for them is an issue

I don't really see why this is such a hot topic, I couldn't care less if it's implemented as my gear is almost always repaired, only had it break in an instance maybe once or twice since I started playing but people are slinging shit like there's no tomorrow. Reminds me of some of the Star Citizen official forums, "I paid $300 for this ship, you shouldn't be able to explore a static version of the ship! Want the ship? Buy it yourself, can't afford it? Work for it you lazy ass."

I don't either. But then again, these forums....

A simple suggestion that would be nice for certain players and hurt no one gets shot down with flak and fire.

This is why it's so rare for us to get QoL improvements and nice things.

Yup SE adding all that new glamour and hoping you will have inventory problem so that you will buy those extra 6 retainers for $12 a month. SE master plan!

I love the official forums, they tell you to use the search for thread about what you wanted to talk but when you use it they judge for necro a thread.

They should totally make an anime out of this premise.

You have the option to repair before entering, therefore you are not at a disadvantage. If you forget, it's on you. This MMO is not those MMOs you keep referring too, it's a different one. There are games that punish players far worse even than durability on gear. We can always go back to losing experience and even levelling down like in FFXI if you so want other MMO stuff involved.

It's not that bad to run to the retainer to change glamour when you want to do it. Do you really have to change glamour in the middle of a dungeon? Does that really mean an NPC should be added to dungeons to fix your stuff just so people can change their underwear halfway between fights? I know you say you don't like crafting, but all you have to do is turn ins or even leves etc. to level your crafts for it, takes awhile that way, but it works out so you don't really need to do the 'boring' crafts yourself, and then you can repair yourself.

If you forget to repair, and your stuff is broken in a dungeon, just go along with it. If it's something that really punishes you for having some broken gear, then the 30 min should teach you in future to prepare well for such things.

Oh, and it's not just on the person who forgets. Just last night, our tank forgot, and as a result, our entire group got sent to the back of the queue line with 30 minutes of our lives wasted

Also, not even going to comment on the huge exaggerations of glamour changing in your post other than to say my retainers are also pushing their inventory limits.

Except that it is. Immediately after exiting a dungeon, you can make an intentional, conscious choice to repair your gear. If you make this choice, then your gear will be at 100% next time you enter a dungeon. If you make the choice to do anything else, perhaps because you think you have anything better to do than repair your gear, you're choosing not to repair your gear. If you make this choice several times in a row, and your gear breaks in the middle of a dungeon, there is a more than adequate system in place to handle it: you leave the dungeon and take the well-deserved thirty minute penalty for making the wrong choice too many times.

There are more than enough opportunities to make the right choice outside of the dungeon, and based on the rest of this thread, it's clear that broken gear is not a result of people not understanding which choice is correct, or even that a choice has to be made. The devs shouldn't add an accommodation for people who understand what's expected of them but choose not to do it.
