If you think about it that way, then anyone else can fill that healer role as well, maybe someone who enjoys healing, and who actually brought along healing gear to whatever event you're attending. It doesn't have to be you. If you don't want to switch so that you can get a chance at getting that lance you want, then don't.

Not if you don't want to, no. My logic is basically this: play as what you want to play. If you hate playing a certain class/job/role, then don't play it. No one if forcing you to, and no one should try to either. Tanks and healers will always be in higher demand than straight up DPS, because people enjoy playing DPS a lot more. The downsides to playing a DPS is that you will (usually) have to wait longer to get a spot in a group, you'll have more competition for loot rolls, etc. But that's a universal truth of all MMO's.

That being said, if you don't want to play a healer, and you're group needs one, then you have to live with the reality that you will spend more time looking for one. But once you find one, however, you will be able to play your desired class/job, and therefore be able to "need" or "required" or "/random" or whatever on that gear for the class you came to the party/fought that encounter with.

2. I have 4 classes to 50(I don't really I only have one.) one of them being a healer.
3. Why would I kick my friends out for some nobody?

I see. That's simple: master looter. If you're the only one with a healer, but you hate it, but you're playing as one because you want to play with your 7 friends, then designate someone you trust as the master looter. He makes sure that you get the lancer gear you're looking for.

You see, WoW doesn't have ONLY need b4 greed. The party leader can designate loot modes. You can choose between need b4 greed or master looter.
