Here are the resources I've used to get exactly the color I want for my chocobo:

    http://forum.square-enix.com/ffxiv/t...o-Color-Dyeing

    http://ffxivchocobo.com/en

    https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets...9Z4/edit#gid=0

It's not only about the number of fruits to feed, it's also about the order in which you feed, and sometimes you need to break up the fruits so that you're not feeding too many of one type all at once. The first link has a lot of information in it about how to use the other two pages.

    Good luck!

I heard, even if you do everything right, there is still some small RNG chance it won't turn out how you want it to right off the bat. Kinda been holding off trying to color my chocobo cause of that, still need to figure out how to grow the fruits lol XD

There is some chance that even if you do everything "right" according to those resources, it still won't be the exact color that you wanted from what I understand. It will be pretty close however (also as I understand it after reading a lot about it all), and once you get pretty close it is apparently fairly easy to get to the color you wanted on the next feeding session.

I've been very lucky; the first time I tried for a color, I got pretty close and was able to get the exact color I wanted on the next try just by feeding a couple more appropriate fruits. The next three times I changed Xander's color (twice in the last three days because I'm picky!), I got exactly the color I was aiming for on the first try.

    One thing I will note:

When I changed his color to Wine Red and then decided I didn't like it at all, going back to the default Desert Yellow by feeding a Han Lemon and then going from there to Seafog Blue used a LOT less fruit than going directly from Wine Red > Seafog Blue. Keep that in mind, because fruits are either expensive in time, or expensive in gil so using fewer is always a plus.

If you haven't done those yet, there are some side quests in Tail feather that give you good amount of coloring fruits. Apart from them I only needed few extra fruits to get the color I needed.

For the reasons why it can go wrong. The color is based on three values, those of red, green and blue. Which would be familiar to anyone who's done any computer graphic. The fruits, each of them, always tone some of them up, and some of them down. However a value of 0 can't go down, and max value can't go up. That's why the feeding order matters, because you need to keep all the value out of the caps, otherwise the math gets wrong. When aiming for the cap values (soot black or white) this can be increasingly important since you're skirting near the gap line. This added to the small random variation it's almost be expected that it goes slightly wrong at first, but the closer you are to the values you want, the easier it is to predict how much you need to fix it.

If you say 'pls' because it's shorter than 'please', I say 'no' because it's shorter than 'yes'.

The calculator I used to color my own chocobo (the middle link in the earlier post that lists three links) suggests the following

    Rhotano Blue » Soot Black
    RGB(28, 61, 84) » RGB(43, 41, 35)

    Difference: Red: 15, Green: -20, Blue: -49

Feed all of the following in one feeding to change to your desired colour:

    3 × Mamook Pear, 7 × Xelphatol Apple

    Xelphatol Apple

Well, my FC had the stuff laying around in the vault. So using http://ffxivchocobo.com/#results I was able to turn my chocobo to Snow White, I fed it everything in the order it said, and amount, then waited 6 hours, and it came out perfect Looks like if I wanted to change my mind and go Soot Black, it would take 108 feedings, so giving it the thing to turn it back to yellow would be a better bet lol

Feed all of the following in one feeding to change to your desired colour:
To go from Kobold Brown to Soot Black -

    2 × Doman Plum

    View feeding order
    1. Doman Plum
    2. Doman Plum

Hope you get it, that seems like little room for error!
