Then you're sacrificing your return point, the whole point of it all is so there is no going back to town for the leve's, instead having the leve's sets for the level of the camp at the camp.

You mean you don't already set your HP in the city where you're doing leves o.O?
It's hardly a sacrifice.. It literally takes 5-10 minutes to get anywhere in the game from any city, thanks to chocobos and airships. You'd only have to do that once, when your done with your leves. It's the 5-10 in trips between the camps and cities that add up (which you should already be cutting in half by setting your HP in the city anyways..)
I agree.... they are all just grind. Personally, as a miner, i think it would be nice to utilize a mine instead of having to track it down over the lands (which doesn't make sense anyways) and get more exp that way than through leves.
As for exp via a fighting class. Personally i think they need to do away with the lev system... its just grinding, actually its more so as you have to go back and forth, thus taking more time than just camping a spot and spamming mobs.
I personally would love to see a way of leveling up where the grind wasnt so apparent. Say... have mobs attack your outposts or.. even parts of the town or something a bit more exciting than killing local wildlife pointlessly over and over. That would rock. In FFXI i actually liked fighting the mobs that came to attack an outpost. Though my only complaint about that was leaders were near impossible to kill without a large group of people. Which was unrealistic. But I digress.
But if they couldn't do any of the above then at the very least they can make more levs for locations... having just 2 is silly... i think 8 is more acceptable.
