For those who put up with the bull crap and did the grind to gear up before 3.2, your efforts have now paid off.
I220 is legitimately good and useful for high level content. There is a crap ton of demand. Materials are cheap and plentiful. In these areas, we have never had it this good before.
Barriers to entry by new crafters are ridiculously high, so your profitability is secure. I should know because I am one of the people who said "this isn't worth it" and "I've got better things to spend my time on" a few months back. The base materials to make crafter gear are around 250k a pop on the MB, which puts the cost of each piece of crafter gear between 1.5 and 5 million Gil approximately. Materia prices have also skyrocketed lately. Fortunately, I have a good stockpile of materia and already have a fully melded left side, but I am looking at 20+ million Gil not counting materia for right side and tools just to get my first class up to 3-star.
I understand some of you geared up all 7 classes and it stinks you can't craft in all of them. I get it. I used to be a full-fledged omnicrafter in the good old days before Heavensward, so I know how you feel. We already have plenty of other threads to complain about that on, so let's please keep it over there.
The point I wanted to make is that you guys have it good right now. SE has finally done something right for crafting. I'm not invalidating people's complaints about the specialist restrictions, but simply inviting you to take a moment to appreciate the good in this patch.
