Hardcore crafters, SE has rewarded you big-time in this patch.

For those who put up with the bull crap and did the grind to gear up before 3.2, your efforts have now paid off.

I220 is legitimately good and useful for high level content. There is a crap ton of demand. Materials are cheap and plentiful. In these areas, we have never had it this good before.

Barriers to entry by new crafters are ridiculously high, so your profitability is secure. I should know because I am one of the people who said "this isn't worth it" and "I've got better things to spend my time on" a few months back. The base materials to make crafter gear are around 250k a pop on the MB, which puts the cost of each piece of crafter gear between 1.5 and 5 million Gil approximately. Materia prices have also skyrocketed lately. Fortunately, I have a good stockpile of materia and already have a fully melded left side, but I am looking at 20+ million Gil not counting materia for right side and tools just to get my first class up to 3-star.

I understand some of you geared up all 7 classes and it stinks you can't craft in all of them. I get it. I used to be a full-fledged omnicrafter in the good old days before Heavensward, so I know how you feel. We already have plenty of other threads to complain about that on, so let's please keep it over there.

The point I wanted to make is that you guys have it good right now. SE has finally done something right for crafting. I'm not invalidating people's complaints about the specialist restrictions, but simply inviting you to take a moment to appreciate the good in this patch.

Funny thing is those 250k materials don't even cost nearly that much to make. The amount of effort involved in getting those materials is close to none. Huge profit margin given the amount of work.

You misunderstand. I am talking about dryad sap, purified coke, etc. You can't craft those. Afaik, the easiest way to get them is diadem.

@ Cerberus mats for eikon cloth go for around 50k atm so it's really huge profit. Even while having to buy eikon leathers from marketboards i make 200-400% of mats price in profit on each i220 WAV piece >_>

There are some holes (like leatherworkers desiring three other specialist), specialist skills being terrible, and leveling crafters still having an (expensive) time catching up. None the less you are correct. Overall this is a good patch for crafters and all players alike.

They did more things right than wrong. So I'm happy. I still want more though! =-)

Mat costs are low, sales are plenty, and between me and a friend we have every Specialist needed to craft every combat piece and regularly trade materials and gear or share commissions and recommendations. Not only that, but I can also help my friends gear up at a fraction of the cost they would have paid on the market.

As someone who has invested a SIGNIFICANT amount of time and gil into gearing every Crafting class since Red Scrips were released I'm quite content with this patch so far. I've always enjoyed the Crafting system and eagerly gear up my Crafters for the primary purpose of finding better and more stable rotations. Though the gil I'm making now is nice the best part about the patch has to be exactly as giantslayer said - Vindication that my efforts bore more fruit than just the satisfaction of reaching higher levels of ability, which is something that ALL Crafters have been denied for almost half a year now.

I'm having the time of my life, money-wise. Can hardly keep it up with the demand. Even materia V is showing up, for the cap/high numbers aficionados.

It's a lot of fun! I can barely keep up with orders! I have five 3 star specialists main and an alt so I can craft everything, but so far I have just been crafting for friends and making mats for other crafters. I think I have made over 40 pieces of 220 gear for peeps. :3 Too bad I was sick all last week or I would be farther!

high profit only last 2 days then dropped to rock bottom price quicky in my server
crafters often offer 400k for body / leg , 300k for the rest of left hand side eq and 200k for right hand eq in PF
I personally found its not worth the time and effort to do it anymore (3 star rotation is really time consuming) and back to selling Chimerical and Serpentskin sets which I can quick macro them, and the profit in those have almost tripled since 3.2.
