That means if they wanted to add a butt slider they would also need to redo all the equipment to keep that in mind. It's not as easy as saying just make butts, it's a Jenga effect, you want to add that, you have to go back and accommodate all armor to fit with the slider.

Its already a problem with different bust sizes. A lot of the equipment doesn't take into account bust size already. I picked the largest breasts for my Au Ra and they do look bigger when I don't have any equipment equipped but if I put on something like monk eso body my Au Ra looks really flat. It's like this armor was designed to be unisex and it doesn't show off bust on female characters.

Definitely a needed change, along with fixing female armor magically changing the character's bust-size, rather than conforming to the character's actual dimensions. If it's a problem gear-wise, then the problem should be fixed, not handwaved as fine the way it currently is because it would take more work to fix.

There's too many issues in this game that we're told won't be fixed because of the amount of work involved. I know we all want shiny new content, but that content isn't worth much if the basic infrastructure it's built on is too shakey to support features that are basic in many other modern games. Please, please, make some time in the development cycle to reevaluate and fix these issues, even if it means new content comes a little slower. It's fine if the fixes are difficult or time-consuming to put together, too, we're happy to wait for them to be done right, as long as we know they're being done.

Alternatively, they could have armour scale the butt automatically on a case by case basis similar to the bust slider. It might annoy some, but not more anymore than it does already where you character suddenly gets implants for some chest pieces. The game was released in 2013, I still can't believe they don't have proper scaling (why even give options really?) on armour sets when every other F2P Korean title manages it with armour that's far more detailed and much more prone to stretching issues with textures if done incorrectly, although they almost never are. Maybe FFXIV's engine is really that bad, considering Kingdom Hearts 3 and Final Fantasy 7 were moved to Unreal Engine 4.

Now that we are almost a year into the first expansion would it be possible to finally restore our character lower body shapes, while ..fixing the lower body of the new races as well?

Sadly it wasn't just miqo'te that were effected by this

It seems almost all races were reduced in order for them to meet the costs for ARR Launch, while the new races (at the time) FemRoe, Male Miqo'te, Female Highlander were also given a lower body reduction.

(On a side note I don't think Female Au Ra were as effected by this as the other races)

You got your answer and the situation has not changed. Even if the mythical PS3 end of service was going to happen at 4.0 the fact still remains MMOs like FF14 are designed to run on toasters and that's why they are very careful about how much memory the client uses.

I've noticed that FF14 does have some cloth physics it's not very advanced. If they were to make the 'butt sliders' it would cause too many issues with the clothing.

Nah, Au Ras are just as flat. Same as every other female in this game.

The female Midlander, Au ra and Miqo'te use the exact same body model. I'd argue the Elezen are the same but 'stretched'. They have different animations but if you look at them they look the eact same except the have different height sliders and two have tails tacked on, and one scales textures.

I agree the characters need a better option...nothing wrong with having a curvier character or asking for one. I just wish my Cat had her old better bottom back! it looked better.

I would think a slider or a body option would work.

This! ^ It drives me crazy. I am a proud member of the itty bitty... "bust"... committee and I don't like it when my character's bust size goes from "ohai, we're a little shy" to "THESE THINGS WEIGH 10 POUNDS EACH" just by putting on the Yukata top.

As for the rear end game...

Everyone deserves a gasp-worthy booty. c;
