Easter Quest "Easter Egg"? SPOILER?!

I completed the full Easter (Hatching Tide) quest & after I collected the barding I noticed there is an extra cutscene that, theoretically, only makes any sense if you've done the (side?) quests in the Dravanian Forelands. I wondered if everyone gets this scene or if some people missed out, never to be able to see it, because they hadn't done the side quests.

Did your character see it or not? Without giving too much away it involves chocobo breeding.

I saw it, I assume if you complete those quests is when you actually see it.

I saw it! Though I've done the questline... now I'm curious how the cutscenes goes if you hadn't done those particular sidequests.

There are probably two versions: one for people who've completed the quests in the Forelands and one for those who haven't. The only difference is likely just dialog. There are actually a fair amount of quests in the game where a character addresses you differently when they meet you in a cutscene if you've done something with them or for them before and this is likely no exception.

My wife didn't get it as she didn't complete that questline. There was no additional cutscene at all, altered text or otherwise.

It's similar to when you first meet Estinien in the MSQ. If you've done at least the level 50 DRG quest, he has an altered text in the cutscenes that refers to you as a fellow Azure Dragoon. If you didn't do the level 50 DRG quest, it just skips that scene.

SE does this a lot with quest flags. Just adds more flavor.

That's exactly what I wanted to find out, whether there was an extra scene at all. Interesting to know, thanks! It just goes to prove to others that side quests can be "important" down the line & shouldn't be ignored. =3

I suspect, though it's purely speculation, that if you complete the Tailfeather questline then view the cutscene again from the Unending Journey, it would include the bonus scene.
