How about no; and go away?
You must not know how the internet works if your making such a suggestion; because 99% of them use hacking programs and VPNs so it wouldn't even matter.

That is not how SE FF MMO rolls. I even liked it better like 1.0/XI where there was a complete mix of the world on every server.
No one is saying that it won't stop RMT, but that RMT itself isn't all from China, which needed to be cleared up. As someone else have said, keeping servers region locked would destroy FCs and statics and that is going to cause an uproar bigger than any RMT would hope to achieve.
Putting the same block that TERA does around asian IP's would, I'm absolutely certain of it, be just as effective without destroying (most) FC's.No one is saying that it won't stop RMT, but that RMT itself isn't all from China, which needed to be cleared up. I could understand this if it was originally implemented, but people have already made friends, bought houses, and enjoy the server they already play on regardless of the data centre they're on and where they live in real life. This would be completely unfair and actually a really over-excessive solution for something that can be solved in other ways.
Another note is the RMT can already be banned and easily prevented if SE really wanted to. What makes you think they would go to this amount of effort when the RMT's still exist in the first place? They are obviously not that much of a priority.

Absolutely no. Region locking is a blight on the Internet and this will hurt legitimate players, not the RMTs who'll have no trouble circumventing restrictions.
On my JP server the RMT problem doesn't exist. I've only seen a couple of advertisements (in English) in the entire time I have been playing, and there's always a group of lv50 BLMs in The Hourglass who never seem to get banned. But the constant tell spam and harassment seen on English-speaking-majority servers is simply absent and I've never, ever received a Japanese RMT tell. Or a German/French RMT tell. This problem wouldn't exist without demand in English-speaking regions.
Banning the Asian region makes no sense when Japan is in Asia. Also, you can't seriously think it's fair to block the people who enjoy the international version of the game from various Asian companies - including countries with no local version of the game, expats in China and Chinese gamers with the foreign version - just because of the RMT issue.

god no..... region locking annoys the ehemm out of me lol so many korean games i couldnt play due to stupid region locks...

Possibly one of the worst, of not *the* worst suggestion I've ever seen posted on these forums. The way to deal with RMT is a permanent ban on anyone who buys gil, unfortunately there'd be a lot less North American / Western users one would imagine.

Would instantly stop playing the game if they did this.
