BLM definitely has the better control over a fight, but it's much more contingent on execution and team. I'll always argue that the pilot is more important than the vehicle. If you can't get the blm down and it becomes a battle of attrition between the two sides, I can't help but die a little bit inside when there's really not much I can do about a BLM unless a melee is focusing on him with me, and that say blm is both turreting better than my MCH and blowing my team's purify.

Agree with this. That being said..still unsure of this newfound awe of blms. Assuming the tank (god forbid it be a pld) hasn't gone on healer lockdown vacation in leiu of chasing a nin or something, ranged and melee just ride the blm (buffed, unbuffed..doesn't matter at all from personal experience) around the arena til its dead. Provided people have half a brain..blm is still just a healer's mp sink. If for god knows whatever reason they decide blm's too tough to mess with, ya, they deserve to get nuked to hell. Thing thats confusing me is its ALWAYS been this way..the 15% edge has done NOTHING exceptional. Guess just some matches make ya question people's targetting priorities...
BLMs still have swift cast to answer for that. The 15% change essentially requires you to put 2 dps on a caster to prevent any casts from going out (which then leads to your example if you have a WHM and BLM present, both of which that benefit incredibly from this change). The problem remains is the duration of sleep even on the second DR (where it's 6~ seconds, still a very long time) as well as bind on a non-healer job if you happen to pop purify. Still, it takes a coordinated team to even take advantage of that, and those are becoming more increasingly rare (at least on my end at 800~ bronze, ranged dps).

It probably seems that way because theres still a bunch of bad blms in there not even hitting 100k dmg in a full length match despite the buff but I can assure you that 15% edge has definitely made the previously already skilled blms much more formidable. On primal theres only like 3 blms I can think of at the top of my head that when I see them on the opposite team I absolutely go after them relentlessly because they will wreck your team with the sleeps and then fire IVs if you dont apply pressure on them. And its nowhere near as easy as just "riding the blm around the arena till its dead" when these guys are skilled enough to rotate their sleeps, lethargies and freeze/binds to keep you away. You combine them with whm which has an almost equally impressive cc arsenal along with sacred soil (an already awesome ability pre update now turned into 24 seconds of god status with the spell interruption buff) and you have 2 jobs that you cannot allow to run around uninterrupted yet because of the interruption rate buff its not inconceivable that one or the other will since they are splitting dps alot of times. Thank god the majority of the blms in primal are bad anyway so it hasnt been much issue but id imagine in 4 v 4 premade its a huge deal.
Flo and Knives you both should be really careful what you advocate against, I don't doubt your skills as I've been both paired with and against you and I know what you're worth, but if you just tried playing BLM or even SMN you might change your mind about the "need to reduce CC duration". Back when WD came out the CC lasted 30 sec, then 15, etc, and THAT was unplayable. Sure currently WHM/BLM is annoying but that's not the setup you're always gonna face, and it's not even unbeatable.SE is gonna read all this complaining, and if it comes to a 6 secs reduction for sleep/freeze for both BLM and WHM it's gonna be "we can only run for our lives now" all over again, until Surecast/Equanimity/Swiftcast" allows me to cast a CC again, or a thunder to spread with Sharpcast and hope I get more procs to basically solely live off thunder procs, unless I get completely ignored or only attacked by one dps, to finally afford the time for a fire IV rotation. I'm only slightly exagerating this, you don't realize how easily interrupted a BLM gets by LoS breaking, and the time it takes to cast strong spells like fire IV. Should I always be paired with a competent melee the running around to save my life would be less of a worry, but I can't decently just hope for someone to do most of the job and try to finish stuff off with possible procs or lolscathe/Phantom Dart. The nerf to SMN was inadequate enough for me and some other people to not want to play it anymore, what's it gonna be when BLM gets nerfed and becomes something only very few want to bother with? MCH and BRD will be the go to, and then just you wait for complaints about "DRG and MCH having too high a burst-QQ-needs-nerf". Even when I play MNK or DRG and I gotta face a BLM/WHM team, I get slept, bound, heavied and I suck it up, because as I said it's not always the setup I'm gonna be facing and if I just wanted a defenseless target to hit without interruption I'd just go hit training dummies.
things have gotten more fun with the recent adjustments as i can see a team with BLm WHM DRG PAL tearin up so much ass now. more classes play now instead of the 4 that was considered meta before the recent changes.
BLM WITH DEFENCE BUFF+AST shields DAYUM.
