Getting tired of the Midas grind for a specific drop...

I imagine a lot of players are starting to feel it. Many players mapped out their Midas drops so that entering week 5 and onwards the goal is to get 1-2 bolts from Midas.

My complaint is this, after running Midas 2 about 15 times tonight I have consistently lost the roll for the tarnished bolt, even when 2 dropped during a run. Is there anyway we can get a guaranteed desired drop after X amount of times of running a particular wing of Midas and perhaps raids in general? It could even be a high number, like 30 runs, but this RNG is KILLING me >_<

I'm curious how many runs it's taking y'all to get a certain drop. One person during a run said he'd been at it about 25 times and counting. A few runs, refreshing myself on Midas content? That's fun. This stupid luck-driven grind? No thanks

Well , since HW we now have 2 kind of "raids" to grind : 24-man with the Ark series and 8 man with Alex NM.

Here's how I take it, hope this could help:

- if any loot takes me more than 7-10 attempts i just buy the i220 crafted item instead. You can put 5 materias on these so they are even better than Midas in most cases. On my server if you know some crafters you can get any of these items between 500k and 1 mil each. My rule: if getting the Midas loot takes longer than making the gils in the meantime (+- two days) i just buy the crafted item.

- most of the turns are easy enough to be facerolled by PUGs but for "hardest" turns i run them with people i know... who dont need their loot.

- vote for the loots you dont need first and let them win their weekly roll before you roll on your bolt. Helps a bit.

They did a really good job with adding the i220 crafted stuff at the same time than Midas NM stuff imho. This time the grind is just "optional" at least.

You could try organizing a farm party via PF for these as well and have people stay until everyone has gotten their drops. It might take 6-8 runs to get drops for everyone if everyone is going for the same item, but it's a simple way to cap the number of runs you'll need to do. I saw these all the time when Gordias NM was the new content.

My midas runs are capping my lore so it's all good. Seems about right though. 6-7 runs to get my drop is a reasonable average.

I've been pretty lucky and I haven't needed more than 2 tries to get any one drop.

Yes i often have same issue pretty much for all the content, so after 15 runs i would just say the heck with it tbh
Luckily my blm i have mostly crafted gear, but for my other classes i miss out on Midan gear, oh well .....

What i like to do if im having trouble is pass on the things I dont want and roll on the thing I want AFTER the others are already taken, just in case people are rolling on multiple things.

Also, if it comes down to it, make a party finder or FC group for it and grind it until everyone has there stuff. That gives you a max of like 7-8 runs or so until everyone has their drop
