Viera Race!

I would really like to see the Viera race implemented into the game, I looked over previous concept art with Viera drafts and I really have to say that I was hoping for it to be added to the game. I was a little disappointed when I found out it was going to be AuRa. I just wanted to make my opinion known and say that I am still hoping for the Viera race to be added eventually. If I could Id totally fund the idea! (I probably can in the amount of $ I spent on fantaisas!) Anyway I hope that this idea comes back into consideration; the Viera have been my favorite aspect of final fantasy for a very long time. I love rabbits and I love the Viera, it would be awesome to express my inner Viera! It could even be an option to be a Viera like Fran or as the sub race (like hyur Highlander and Midlander) be a shorter more lala like Viera. I also don\\'t believe Vieras are "too feminine". Im not giving up hope, and Im keeping my fingers crossed. Vieras now! Vieras forever!

Yeah, the Viera would make a great addition to FFXIV's race line up! Viera are also my favorite and I would INSTANTLY make my character into one if given the opportunity. ^^

The idea to make them shorter could work too so the game would have another shorter race.

Using the Wood Viera and Feol Viera (FF Revenant Wings) to make two different clans of Viera for FFXIV would be really cool too! The Wood Viera would general stick close to a forest home, while their Feol counterparts would prefer living in cities instead. Both Wood and Feol Viera have unique appearances to themselves, the Wood Viera being tall and dark skinned with long ears, while the Feol are shorter (like lowlander hyur) with light skin and shorter ears. If possible, the Wood Viera could have a mature and beautiful appearance similar to how they look in FFXII, while the Feol could have a cuter and more childish like appearance. Both of these clans would easily stand out compared to other races, even without altering them to make them closer to Lalafell height.

I really hope Viera are put into the game to make playing FFXIV an even more enjoyable experience! ^^

I'm holding out hope for this, but also that SE give us the option to create more characters on the same server rather than just eight. I am at home on my own server. Having an extra 32 slots to be used elsewhere have little value to me beyond testing appearances and voices on a less-congested server before finalizing the appearance on my home one.

SE already stated that the viera will not be added to the game because Yoshi doesn't want to have multiple "humans with animal parts" type races in the game, and hence because that 'role' is already taken by the miqo'te, it means viera will never be added (that basic concept art of a 'Eorzean viera' revealed ages ago during a live event Yoshi stated he was actually reluctant to even show it, knowing full well it would be taken by the community to mean viera are "on the cards" which they are not (for the reasons mentioned).

Besides, the whole belief that viera are coming to FFXIV all stemmed from players misunderstanding a poll SE conducted ages ago where players were asked (among other things), what type of new race they would like to see added into the game in future, and one of the choices was a "humanoid" and viera was added as an example. Gullible players however took that to mean the choice was actually asking for viera, and thus chose that accordingly. Hence why Heavensward introduced the draconic/demonic-looking au ra instead of another animal/human hybrid race like the viera, SE do not want to add another race like the later. So I'm sorry to say viera will probably never be added into the game.

Besides, we already have six playable races in the game - and players are already complaining about lack of customization variety with the races we already have. I'd rather SE add more variety in say hairstyles, facial models and similar customization choices than just adding another playable race, especially one that would just be there for fanservice.

Still staying hopeful nobody can break that. Also, the au ra is just another human with animal parts. They're a human with dragon parts. Same exact thing.

Yeah I was hoping for Viera long time ago as well but as stated above, there is little chance of that happening ever. However, with upcomming expansions I'm sure they will be adding new races, so not sure what they can come up with if they don't want anymore "humanoids with animal parts"...?
