Dragoon is coming, but will our gallant companion be joining us?

Honestly i can't believe no one has asked Yoshi about Dragoons and if they will be having a Wyvern pet. Everyone enjoyed Dragoons for the soul purpose of having an awesome flying tiny dragon shooting breath attacks and healing you.

I would be very sad to see Dragoon as a jumping version of lancer w/o a pet. What do you guys think?

Yoshi said they are already developing the pet systems, and jobs don't come till feb. 2012. I'm interested in everyones opinions.

I think there is a 25% chance they will get pets at this point.

Wyvern would be the best first pet class to add because its a lot easier to add, since all it would do really is a few breath attacks maybe. Unlike summoner/beastmaster which would need all new classes/tons of abilities (every summon has so many) on top of the animations for all the summons/primal not added.

So with this i still see a chance that we will get our first pet class, this would certainly make a large group happy.

If you want all of Ishgard trying to kill you, then you may have a pet dragon.

Seriously though, you are quite hung up on how dragoon operated in FFXI. Think outside the square (enix).

No, I'm pretty sure Dragoon is just going to be a big damage, low accuracy Lancer, with elemental damage capabilities.

Dragoon has been featured in five main-series games as a job, and only one of those has a wyvern pet. It would be fun, but it's really not a classic part of the job.

It was a cool gimmick in FFXI however i would not be too heartbroken without it; I am very fond of the traditional dragoons from the FF series.

I think most people loved the pet wyvern, it was just Dragoon was always out classes due to the dumb balancing.

I honestly couldn't care less about the wyvern, I just want the Dragoon to do what the lancer does, but better.

I don't really mind not having a pet for my Dragoon job, because to me, it's special ability jump is what is important to me "Doomspike" demonstrate just that

I don't want to see a wyvern at my side. Never saw those ugly dragons as something that defines the Job Dragoon. All i need is Jump and something that makes me useful for my group, such as high damage output, buffs, or debuffs.
