I disagree on the enfeebling magic, I would want to raise my Vit for benefitial magic, miles before I would care about enfeebling magic as a bard.
When I saidI was refering to PIE not STRFrom what I got out of it, it should only effect AA.

Bard doesn't get any "enfeebling magic" but it's my understanding that Enfeebling Potency boosts how long stuff like Shadowbind's added effect lasts, how much Bloodletter's DoT does per tick, etc.
New here, so this may be an old question. I apologize if it is.
With the new stats and what they do being released. Ideally an archer is going to be itemizing, Dex and some piety. But would it be beneficially to try to fit some STR in there for the attack power. Or is STR going to be a useless stat for archer because DEX would be better in every situation. I'm unclear on the affects of attack power, so any clarification would help out a lot :3
Personally, as of now, unless we had a ranged AA, I put STR miles ahead of PIE. We have no ranged AA, so unles you sit on the enemy all of your damage will come drom abilities.
Now this is based on my understanding of how each stat will effect damage. It may prove to actually work differently upon release, but this is how I see it at the moment.
The way I understand it is that DEX and PIE both affect "Shot" attacks.
I still wonder if it will be possible to allot points to the class and to the job. PIE for Archer seems to fit but VIT would be better for Bard as it has enhancing spells.
Like in XI you would need to carry gear to support the job. Regarding point allotment, update notes state points cant be changed between 1.20 - 1.21 (when we'll see jobs like bard). I assume they will allow point re-allotment with some restrictions for that patch.
Bottom line: for 1.2, pick your favorite class, and use the point allotment accordingly.
Since this thread has somewhat to do with my question I'll just post in here instead of making a new thread.
So, with the new point allotment system I was wondering if my overall damage would increase more if I went with something like +11 dex, level up to 28 and add another 11 points to dex versus going with +11 to both dex and pie? Also, I do a lot of soloing so I'm guessing that eventually I'll want to raise str and vit but for now just wondering what would increase my overall damage the most. I'm still pretty new to the game and Arch is my main and probably the one I'll be sticking with to 50
Since dex is attack attribute 1 , it will probably add more benefit to your damage, so i'd max that first.
Not telling you it's the right thing to do but that's how I allotted my points:
*Feel free to check it if you want a global idea of what I think is important for Archer. Don't look if your desire is to not be influenced
STR +8 (Attack Power)
VIT +7 (Enhancement Magic Potency)
DEX +20 (Damage)
INT
MND
PIE +10 (Damage)
Again this is my vision of things.
