FFXIV moved away from auto-attack while WOW went without... how odd.

Not sure why anyone would even call what we have Auto Attack. It's so slow you almost never use it. I can'y even imagine fighting without all three of the Basic Timed Attacks.

That's because they removed the light shot equiv spell from the melee classes and made it in a sense, auto cast and called it Auto attack. The same cooldowns are there so it feels extremely slow.
