FFXIV moved away from auto-attack while WOW went without... how odd.

why are we comparing *** like WoW to ff14 again? apples and oranges and OH MY now PANDA BEARS! [Removed by Moderator according to the FINAL FANTASY XIV FORUM Guidelines.] Please keep WoW which was outdated in many aspects when it was released outa the ff14 forums it was not the first MMO nor has it really been the best just because it had high subs which now are dropping like the Space station. Did u notice they are conning people people into paying for 1yr of WoW sub for a free copy of Diablo 3 so it doesnt look like no ones playing WoW.

Pandaren are not simply stereotypical panda bears. Anyone who played WC3 knows this. WoW might have been out-dated in a -FEW- aspects at release, but XI and XIV certainly beat WoW in that category by a large margin. 900k people left after Cata. What did Cata do different? It didn't focus on endgame, it focused on redesigning 1-60. It also made drastic changes to classes like healers. Do you think Blizzard will do that again? Highly doubtful. They have no reason to redesign part of the world, because flyers can be used everywhere except PvP, which will never happen, and the 4 starter BC zones.

I wish people would actually think before bashing a game that is always going to be more successful than their own game of choice. They aren't conning anyone, by the way, just stop with your exaggerations, Zenaku 2.0.

Seriously, I don't like Cata, and I haven't raided except 3 times this expac, yet people on this forum are *** about any little thing they can about WoW. WoW, even during Cata, still has mountains of things to do compared to XIV currently. Cata actually will give $15/month worth, even if you barely play it. XIV does not feel like that for most people who bought it, and likely won't until 2.0. If you want to talk about "conning," you'd be much closer to the mark with SE charging for XIV starting in December, though you'd still be off the mark since people know exactly what they're paying for, exactly like how people in WoW do.

auto attack is smart and a good thing in any game, ff14 is simply far too slow in between. needs to speed up to at least 2x as often ORRRR lessen the delay times on all the abilities. the cd are way too long that as a pug i literally just stand there like a boob taking hits waiting for a cd (tp gaining cd to be exact)

tp gain needs to be really boosted, or current tp cost/ability needs to be vastly reduced....or auto attacks need to be a heck of alot more frequent.....something has to happen combat now is too clunky as too much time is spect waiting...standing still while grabbing a java anticipating the time will come where i can either , swing for some tp on auto...or use a much needed ability to gain some tp.
comparing auto attack to wow is a bit pointless , this isnt wow.

but i guarantee you if no auto attack for monks in wow, they WILL have plenty of moves to use with no more then 5 second cd inbetween. they will never have any job literally just stand still getting the crap kicked out of them. (at present thats exactly what we DO have in 14)

really because creating a buy a 12month annual pass for wow and get diablo 3 for free isnt an obvious we know your gonna stop playing this game so we want you to buy a pass so it looks as if our subscription numbers arnt plummeting isnt a con.

2. Believe it or not, there are people who are happy with WoW and want to buy a year's sub. Guess what, these people get their wish plus a free copy of D3.

I'm the first to admit WoW is bleeding subs. However you and the rest of the XI/XIV fanboys are making more out of it than what it is. Even if WoW lost 75% of the player base, they would still have more players than every MMO on the market. XIV will never be on WoW's popularity level, and I'm thankful for that. WoW has attracted a lot of people who aren't gamers, and who definitely aren't MMO players. This started mainly in WoTLK, because you could see an obvious decline in the community at that point. Fragheads aren't hard to notice, and XIV also has its share of them. Another thing that isn't hard to notice are white knights and fanboys who rely on their wet dreams about SE instead of logic. WoW is not 100% bad or good. A lot of good features have been added to WoW that future MMO devs are just plain stupid if they don't implement them in some -WORKABLE- fashion. To imply that anything that comes from WoW is bad and shouldn't be in XIV is the type of thinking that would kill this game. As the other poster said, XI and XIV's community is THE MOST hostile MMO community when it comes to WoW. There is no reason for this, and as I said, every MMO has a small portion of people that bash WoW even though they really have no reason to, though XI and XIV's community is the most rabid in the aspect. Even a good change that WoW implements gets perverted into a negative. That type of community will kill a game long before any failure SE implements.

A large factor of whether this game will make a comeback in 2.0 or not is whether the community is still as ignorant and rude when it comes to WoW as it is now, or whether they learn that WoW can coexist with XIV without the need to bash WoW at every chance. Whether people want to believe it or not, this game will need subs at 2.0 to succeed. The MMO pie is only so big, which means those subs are going to have to come from another MMO and not solely on the XI crowd and people who haven't played MMOs. Being rude and straight up bashing valid features WoW has introduced or expanded upon is going to put off that portion of the joining players (even though I started with XI, I'll leave 2.0 of this game in a heartbeat if people can't get over WoW and just enjoy their own damn game) and XIV will suffer at the hands of the community.

*** about a game you hate exudes an air of insecurity. It's exactly like high school where the stupid, but "popular" students bashed the smart students who didn't care about their perceived image in a setting where it didn't even matter. XIV is the "popular" crowd that never actually matters when it comes to real life, because the rest of the people grow up and learn to enjoy what they want and not care about what other people think about what they enjoy (WoW). Where does this leave those popular people? In a sad and pathetic state where everyone can see how desperate they are, yet they cling to the superficial sense of self-importance when they're only bashing something else to make up for their own shortcomings.

Think about that for a while before you mindlessly bash something that you have not fully experienced. I love when I read people who bash WoW who did not participate in raids or endgame, yet they are the first people to jump on reviews about XIV that state the game is a boring grindfest with no content because, "Those reviewers didn't get to rank 50 so their opinion is invalidated. There is plenty to do at 50."

Double standards. Everyone else can see them but you.
