The experience and money that Blizzard has is nice and all, but what's really making WOW succeed so hard is Blizzard not having totally clueless and unresponsive team leaders like Tanaka. If they see customers complain about a feature, or if they realize that a feature is too hard to implement for too little benefit, they chuck it out. They also look at what other MMOs are doing and incorporate it into their own if it makes sense.

Thankfully, Yoshida is doing the same. Now if only we had him from the start...
