    More Traits not Actions for next expansion.

    I know that the devs are talking about adding a double hot/crossbar to our current keybinds, but wouldn't adding more traits be more effective than adding more actions.

    Thoughts?

    Like what new traits would you like to see for exisiting jobs?

    (DRK)
    - Enhanced Salted Earth - Gain 5% Damage or Magic Defense increase when standing inside the circle?
    - Enhanced Dark Passenger - Now adds DoT effect -OR- Decreases cooldown -OR- Blind duration increased to 25 seconds.?
    - Enhanced Dark Mind - Now Increases Magic Vulnerbility to 20%...40% under Dark Arts.

    (PLD)
    - Enhanced Cover - Now Covers against magic damage
    - Enhanced Sheltron - Now blocks the next attack for 50% of incoming Physical damage

    These are just a few examples that I feel would balance or answer to some of the issues that other jobs face and could compensate for.

    yes, yes and yes don't need more actions give traits to improve existing ones otherwise SE will need to give special controllers/mouses + kb to play the game correctly.

    Also i thought if pld is suppose to be the highest def tank a trait that make block magic (at low rates eg less than half of the normal rates has to be tested)

    Also, If we can post any screenshots to what Traits each job currently has already, we might be able to find out how this would affect other jobs based on each of the abilities' mechanics as well as add more opinions to the discussion. I cannot provide any at the moment because I am not at my home PC. :\

    That could be interesting, but I feel like I'd rather see them have more direct interaction with abilities, maybe add a few proc effects to keep things more interesting. Some of these are a little crazy, but it's give you an idea of the sort of traits I'd like to see as, if we are given traits, I'd like to see them be some sweeping changes that alter the playstyle or cause some really noticeable effects.

    Paladin-
    Enhanced Bulwark: During Bulwark, all shield blocks reset shield swipe. Shield Swipe does 50% more damage and ignores the damage penalty of Shield Oath.

    Warrior-
    Improved Stances: Damage penalty of Defiance reduced to 20%. Stances give the full bonus of having V Wrath/Abandon stacks at all times when active.

    Summoner-
    Enhanced Bane: Bane now refreshes all DoT's on each target hit

    Dark Knight-
    Enhanced Dark Passenger: After using Dark Passenger, next Dark Arts costs no MP.

    White Mage-
    Enhanced Cure: Cure I, II, III now have a 50% chance to reduce the remaining cooldown of Divine Seal and Presence of Mind by 10 seconds. This effect cannot occur more than once every 10 seconds.

    Black Mage-
    Enhanced spells: All damage dealing Black Mage spells have a 50% chance to reset the cooldown on Enochian. Cannot occur more than once every 30 seconds.

    Again these might be over the top and might make a class seem OP based on current content, but if they design future content around us receiving these powerful traits, they could still be balanced in general. Not to mention, I personally think adding traits like these are way more interesting than having a bit more damage or a slightly reduced cooldown on an ability.

These traits would be permenant and would have to be minor in its special addition in order for the devs to not make major changes to the job itself in the future.

    Instead of Bulwark doing what you proposed, maybe an enhanced bulwark to block damage not just from the front, but on the flanks as well would be a better trait adjustment that doesn't make the ability itself too overpowered.

    No way we're going to not get new actions. You realize it takes 8 seconds to implement a trait, but takes more development time to animate a new ability? I'm not paying $30 for an expansion where we get traits.

    I'm sure you would spend the 30$ to learn new job classes introduced to the game? Once again, the double cross bar sounds like a good implementation, but there aren't enough traits that make enough of the skills if the level cap were to be increased to 70.

    HW should have had traits to begin with. To not do so is simply lazy.
