A Request for Rules/Moderation in Novice Network

I would really greatly appreciate it if Square Enix could pen some clearly defined rules for Novice Network. Since kicking anyone is possible, having guidelines on when to do so would help out a bunch, and make it easier to decide when a person's kick was unfair. I do know customer support is auto notified and supposed to check on it, but I think it'd be better to limit the number of times they have to really intervene with players by having these guidelines and making sure there's less of a chance for problems in the first place.

I've seen some questionable conversations, dipping into uncomfortably sexual territory, as well as spoilers for the game later on. And when people have kicked some people for these things, they've also been kicked because "harassment wasn't directed at anyone" and so on and so forth. [continued]

Keeping in mind it's very possible we have a lot of underaged players, that many don't want to see such things anyway, and that honestly there should be a line drawn preserving some decency anyway amongst strangers, I think we need to have some real rules for the chat. It's especially a big problem since many novices are invited without being asked and then suddenly end up with these things in the chat.

A bit of casual conversation is nice, and I think possibly welcoming for new players. That should be fine. But the other stuff isn't so much. I would like to see rules somewhere players can easily find them, since many have fewer scruples than others, so there's a good sense of what is and isn't okay. [continued]

It would be nice to avoid running into those troublesome situations rather than just hoping the automatic customer support notification after someone's kicked actually does something about adjusting the attitude of the person kicked rightfully or the person kicking unfairly.

Is this something SE can do?

I'd also like it if there could be a way to leave the chat without dropping mentor status or novice status.

(Also I'm a bit unfamiliar with the forums. I see there's a character limit but some people's posts seem a bit longer than it... Please excuse me having to break this up since I'm not sure why this happens.)

To get around the character limit, type out your essay. Try to Post said essay. Too long? It will throw you into the Advanced Editor. Select all but the first paragraph, or anything past 10 characters. Cut! Post message. Edit Message. Paste! Save message.

And it seems like SE is going to largely remain hands off for now as far as what can be said in NN. As long as it doesn't violate NORMAL chat rules they have stepped back when it comes to NN.

How do you leave the channel without dropping Mentor or New Adventurer status? Yeah you can't. You are forced to remain in the channel taking up a spot. Unless someone kicks you. Or you hide the channel, still taking up a spot. Or you remain inactive for about 2 hours (I think, I tried to test it out of boredom one day) then it will kick you out of the channel.
