    Help leveling up

    I started FFXIV 4 days ago i think, so i'm new to this stuff.
    I'm leveling Gladiator, Armorer and Miner; while i mine i also level Botanist.
    My problem is I leveled ARM to 12 with almost no problem, but now i need a new recipe to level up and a new doming hammer.
    I have 60k~ at the moment and iron ore costs 1200 gil. I'm also failing pretty much every level 11-20 synth, i can only do iron ingots. I can't even get a bronze hammer because i can't find maple lumber in Limsa Lominsa. I could go mine iron ore but it would take forever, i'm stuck @12

    To answer some of your questions, mapple lumber is logged from trees in grdania fairly close to the low level camp there. The reason you are failing your synths is because you most likely havent gotten proper gear, meaning hammer and secondary arm as well as regular gear that gives increased craftmanship, mg craftsmanship or control. Also if you dont feel like buying your gear you will need to level other craft disciplines. For main and off hand gear you will need blacksmithing and for the rest you will need weaver and leatherworker. I hope some of this info helps you out.

    At lvl 12 I would lvl like this:

    Iron Ingots->Iron Rivets->Iron Rings->Iron Plates

    Around lvl 18 you could try starting with steel and continue during the 20s:

    Steel Ingot->Steel Rivets->Steel Rings->Steel Plates

    As an armorer/gladiator you have the option or either holding on to the mats and using them to make gear or putting them up for sale in the wards. These mats tend to sell fairly well, especially the ingots, so you shouldn't have too much problem making some money to purchase some crafting gear from the wards or NPCs. If you're having trouble finding gear for your crafting levels at a reasonable price, see if there is a weaver in your LS that can help you out with some low level stuff in exchange for some materials you've gathered from botany or for some crystals.

    Not sure if you've seen this post on the main page but I frequent this information so much while i'm crafting/gathering you should probably take a look at it: http://forum.square-enix.com/ffxiv/t...238#post359238

    It shows you where to gather, what items are being sold by npc vendors, and what materials have become outdated.

    For mining iron at a low level I recommend going to skull valley (grade 2) or bloodshore (grade 3). The trick to getting more iron is to place the "AIM" bar down two notches this is iron's "sweet spot" referred to as "-2".

    Also, don't forgot to use some of your leve allowances on crafting "local" leves. These give really good xp, give you some mats, and teach you some recipes.

    For a list of all the "up-to-date" Armorer recipes check out this page:

    P.S. For steel you're going to need a lot of bomb ash. This can be really expensive depending on your server, so it's usually a good idea to farm it. There is a bomb camp far NW of horizon, north of the ferry docks and there are higher level bombs inside of nanawa mines and copperbell mines. You might try to make it a point of leveling up your gladiator while on these mobs while farming for these materials.

    The secondary tool doesn't actually add to your stats unless you're using it for the synth, in which case you lose the primary tool stats. Secondary tools are fairly useless in my opinion.
