Question Regarding Free Trial and Payment

Just had a quick problem for anyone who might be able to answer:

So my roommate recently got this game for the PS4 and is currently playing the game on its Free Trial. However they have already registered a Refer-a-Friend code and are wanting to purchase a 90 day subscription so that they can enjoy the benefits of not only Refer-a-Friend but the Veteran Rewards as well. But when they tried buying the subscription (with Crysta) Mog Station made it sound like it wouldn't allow a charge to go through until their free trial ended. I feel like there has to be some way to buy a subscription while on the free trial, so if someone could possibly point out the right direction on how to do so I would greatly appreciate it!

Do you refer to the 14 day free trial, or the free first month that comes inckuded with the game purchase? If it's the latter, which it sounds to be since you say they got the game, then yes. The first 30 days you get with the game is not free trial as such, it's sort of free subscription month, and you can only add further subscription months to after it.

If you say 'pls' because it's shorter than 'please', I say 'no' because it's shorter than 'yes'.

Subscription will only apply after your free month ends. If you want to add game time right away to get veteran rewards or refer-a-friend rewards, you will need to buy a game time card.

With crysta or a credit card, you won't be charged for the next subscription period (so don't get credit for buying it) until your current sub expires, as those are set up as more of a recurring renewal.

You can, however, buy game time cards and they apply as soon as you add them to your account, so they can be used as a shortcut to getting rewards a bit earlier. (They seem to only come in a 60 day version, though, so you wouldn't get the 90 day rewards unless you add two.) Oh, with game time cards, you also don't get as many subscription options as with credit card or crysta renewals. Game time cards are always a "standard subscription", with no cheaper "basic subscription" option.

p.s. Don't worry about the store page referring to these cards as "PC Download". These apply to your account as a whole irregardless of what platform(s) you use for the game.

From my experience. you can add time to your 30 day trial and it will just add it to the time. but if your on the 14 day trial, then you will lose the time on that trial and your paid sub will start right away

For subscription model payments, it's more often desirable that the amount of currency is not charged before the renewal time, so people can cancel it during their current period without being charged for extra. Since veteran rewards are tied to the paid months, the subscription method payment can't thus be used to get them "ahead of time". However, as pointed, game time cards being single purchases can be added up to the end of the current game time when the person wishes. However, I've heard even then there is a limit of having at most 180 days in your account at once.
