Shadows Flickering Horribly when moving In Game (Video evidence included) 980ti

It's nearly blinding while playing, ESPECIALLY at dark but it's noticeable all the time anyway.

That was captured with FRAPS, it's barely noticeable (look at the grass)

So it was annoying me that I couldn't really capture the problem with fraps and took a (very bad) video with my phone to really show the problem.

    Another phone video:

It happens on ALL shadows, no matter how dark. I've tried Nvidia Inspector, I've tried messing with all sorts of graphic settings. I'm at my wits end. Using GTX 980ti. I've already reset my drivers and tried nearly everything google shows (even though they're not the same problem I'm having).

    Any help here?

That looks like a monitor feature that adjusts contrast/brightness on the fly, would explain why a game recording did not catch it. Connect your PC to a TV or some other display and see how it goes and if you get the same issue.

You absolutely nailed it, connected it to another monitor and had zero issue. Unfortunately I can't find out what setting on this monitor is causing it! (Asus VG248qe). Anyone have any ideas? I'm really glad to have narrowed this down at least.

(SOLVED) Just wanted to comment that I fixed the problem. It was the TRACE FREE setting on the monitor. I had it at 100 and reducing it even to 80 completely killed the flicker. Leaving this thread in case anyone ever has this problem.
