FF14 possibly coming to XBox-1!?

I hate to be the bearer of bad news, but as we discussed in another thread, I don't see this happening. Yes it would be great if we could (I'm looking to bring Discord as a 3rd party app to Xbox One for example, with the whole UWA thing, so voice comms between PC and X1 would be sorted, I'm sure someone could develop something for PS4), but I don't see it happening. Microsoft are still stubborn on Xbox and they still demand Xbox only servers remain available. How does FFXIV achieve that?

I read the article over on Windows Central. And the comments there. And I've looked at other articles about it too. They're still demanding Xbox exclusive servers as well as shared servers.

Of course, it’s up to game developers to support this feature, and Xbox Live players will always have the option of choosing to play only with other Xbox Live players.

The bold tells me they will still force devs to have XB1-exclusive servers, since they are promising XBL players an option to play only with other XBL players, something SE will not accept.

Then not a single company will develop a game for Xbox. No company will waste money to build a server to support all platforms just to build a exclusive server for Xbox only players. They will get stuck in a second PR hellfire for that and lose more money and sales. The only devs that might do that are the people at Microsoft Game Studios and maybe even 343.

Yep. Microsoft still demand that Xbox Live players can have their own servers alongside the shared servers, even with the announcement. So it still won't come to X1.

Windows 10 mobile, unmitigated disaster (I know, I own one, the Lumia 950). Windows 10, laggy mess. Microsoft have the "we're too big to fall" mentality, so they don't care if they make a PR cataclysm.

Yay the new gripe. We can't have good stuff because Microsoft Limitations. PS3 owners get a break.

It will happen. It will happen if S-E still sees opportunity on Xbox One. Subscription money was never the issue, it's just about getting the Xbox players to connect with PS4 and PC. Microsoft are being progressive and relaxing their policies. Microsoft's Phil Spencer tweeted that he would like the game on their platform. There's no reason to doubt the possibility of this happening now.

I'm not sure about that
But I know servers like jenova, that launched with the ps4 version, didn't allow transfers for quite a long time for the sake of letting the economy stabilize so that pc players who had already been playing didn't just transfer over and control the entire server with all these new players running around.

Any player on any platform could create a character here though, it was just cut off from transfers.
