Did you read the article? They just announced cross platform play with PS4 and PC games today. So that means if you buy the Xbox version of whatever new Call of Duty game you can from here on out play with people on PS4/3 and PC.They also don't want to link up to Sony's network, which would be required for cross platform and wanted their own exclusive servers. This was the main reason the Xbone release was canceled long ago. I will remind the PS4 requires a subscription for online but doesn't impose this on XIV

Well I was talking about the orginal reason there wasn't a XB1 version at launch.

as long as the publisher chooses. that's the keyword. if lets say EA says no to battlefield playing with ps4, then it won't be cross platform.

Thats kind of a good news for the future of FF14 if that happens, but in another hand i sense a pointless console fanboys war will begin, if it does indeed happen.
Its the same with every games. You know how stupid people can be some times.
Well honestly in this case its a "don't ask, don't tell". I always hear people knock those who play on PS4 but honestly I've seen tons of good console players who out perform PC. However I guess its inevitable that people will try to fight over something silly like what platform is played on. I mean if it passes it can only help this game, more options for players and allows those who are not fortunate enough to have a PC and Xbox the option to join in as well.
So Phil Spencer just tweeted something out, I'd guess that MS and SE are in talks already.

Phil Spencer has done a fantastic job undoing the PR disaster that happened when the Xbox One was first announced and launched, so I wouldn't be surprised. So Phil Spencer just tweeted something out, I'd guess that MS and SE are in talks already.

do et, Phil/SE - would love to see this.
That's hard to say, the Xbox and PS4 are very simular hardware wise, so a port would be easier then anyone thinks. But the games economy and server status would be really tough. They'd have to shut the game down for awhile and revamp a lot of the flawed systems we deal with everyday to include the Xbox players. We think housing issues are a problem now, add a new console to the mix. The influx of new players would cause everything to skyrocket in price due to the lack of a monitored market. They'd have to step up their GM team and likely make the game cost more pre month. This current team can't even do anything now with the current team but bandaid fixes. He'd have to demand a bigger team, which now that I think about it, isn't a bad thing at all even if they'd have to do some intense maintenances.
