Umm... the old dated recipes are still in game. The only thing removed is blacksmiths and armorers can no longer make copper nuggets (Goldsmiths still can though). So... feel free to burn through it while you can.

I think he is referring to how drastically more expensive it became to make intermediate materials.

used to be 2 raw = (1 synth) 12 thread = (3 synths) 12 cloth ~ a stack of raw would give you 50 base synths + 150 intermediate synths to result in anywhere from 300 to 500 cloths.

Now 2 raw = (1 synth) 1 thread = (1 synth) 1 cloth ~ a stack of raw now gives you the same 50 base synths but only 50 intermediate synths for a really awesome 50 friggin cloths. If you don't fail any.

Those 300 to 500 cloths could then be used in 150~300 finished material synths for lots and lots of exp and a fair amount of NPC-gold. Now you can maybe make 50 finished materials but won't make any money because raw materials are extremely expensive now. Only people who benefit from this are the people who are already 50 in a craft and don't need to synthesis mass amounts for XP.

EDIT: To address the second part of your statement, while the dated recipes are still valid, now that you get drastically less intermediate materials it makes those synths less optimal for skilling up as they are very expensive now. But you need those intermediate materials to actually make anything so it leaves non-50 crafters in a very difficult spot.

Yeah now with the production yielding lower amount, we cannot grind EXP using a ladder set of recipes anymore. Sad.

Oooh, I thought the lower yield recipes were new recipes, with the old versions still valid. That kinda sucks man.

I've got like 10 stacks too and was planning to rank up weaver in the near future. No use for it even at the lower ranks?

It seems the old gear recipes stayed, as well as recipes for things not used anymore, like Iron Wire for example. But things that have a new counterpart, as shown in this thread for example, are replaced by the new recipe.
