    Thoughts for the Next diadem. Feedback thread.

    Ok so it seems like the next Diadem, "Diadem 2" is going to have come changes to it.

    What would you like to see or what do you want Diadem 2 to be like?

    For me I would.

    1. Remove flying.
    Yes! I said it! Remove flying please. If it's supposed to be a open world dungeon then let us not use mounts then and explore on foot. Give us the feeling of exploration and adventure by discovering new lands caves etc. Once I unlocked flying for my 1st run I just flew around the map to see it all.

    2. Discover Caves! Forests etc.
    What I mean by this is certain part of the Island go linear with the odd 1 or 2 split paths that you can explore. So For example lets say you find a cave and at the end of the Cave, (end point could be random or just straight up A to B) could be a gold Treasure chest but you have to fight even harder mobs in the cave to get there safely.
    So the idea of this one is where the path turns into a dungeon within a dungeon so like the caves, woodlands, mountains etc.

    3. HNM less RNG conidtions.
    Ok so in Diadem, you defeat mobs, adds to your NM counter and once you reach a certain amount there is a chance of a IV,V or * NM to appear. It would be nice to unlock a specific NM we need to defeat 20 Spiders or something then go to a Spider cave where a gold Treasure is but also a HNM Spider Lord is inside as well but to gain accesses to the Cave you need to clear 2 other Caves which 1st etc or if you want to spawn a Undead Spider Lord kill 10 Spiders and 15 Skeletons. You get the idea.

    4. Mobs don't have a respawn timer.
    To encourage moving from Island to Island in order for mobs to re spawn on Island A, all of Island B and half of Island C monsters need to be killed.


    For me this is what I wouldn't mind, whats your thoughts?

    I think the caves in the Diadem where flying is suddenly not allowed were actually my favourite bits of the entire experience. Now it's all dino island grind, but back when it was new, those caves were the exciting parts. Your idea makes it sound like an expansion of just those types of areas, and of that I'd approve that!

    my thoughts excally! It was fun to explore the cave and see our efforts of fighting through the mobs only to find......it came out the other end.

    I would say they should let us force pop NM in tiers, like how we had in FFXI, that was fun I would have no problem farming that, and meeting certain conditions to spawn diff types of NM!

    Like we could farm mobs and a NM will pop from lottery...and the NM drop a pop item to trade to a ??? and then it pops an even more challenging NM..and so forth ^^

    1. Stronger mobs with lower health.
    Make the combat actually interesting, not just bashing your face against a health wall repeatedly. Whose idea was that?
    Also reduce the "expected" party fighting these to 4. Free up half the party to help in other ways.

    2. Change the "tracking" system to actually be tracking.
    Give each party one specific "target" mob on the map that will spawn their next NM. When you kill a mob, have it tell you how far away your target is. By killing a couple, you can get your bearings and head of in the right direction to find your mark. It makes the hunt engaging instead of just zerging to quickly rush up a counter. Again, 4-man miniboss mobs for normal mobs, and dungeon boss style fights for the NMs.

    3. Replace the chest "pops" with mini dungeons.
    Currently the chest "pop" spots are fixed locations that take forever to respawn meaning when you get in, they're likely all already taken by some other party. I would replace that with a system that constantly keeps a number of them up across the map as a whole, respawning a new one somewhere else when one is used.

    Now, instead of just giving a chest, popping one of these teleports the user to a solo mini-dungeon. Inside is some sort of challenge. A puzzle, a platforming challenge, an arena of AoEs to dodge for a time, etc. Make something interesting. If the player wins the challenge within the time limit, it spawns a silver or gold chest. If they fail, they get bronze.

    This will sound odd for an MMO, but I want it to be possible to go lone wolf and explore on my own.

    Head off into a cave network, use stealth to sneek around (or pure bad assery to break through) mobs. In fact, it'd be cool if there were lower powered enemies with high HP and strong enemies with low hp. As well as HNMs that are so powerful it's going to destroy anything but a full Allience Raid to defeat. (With rewards to match).

    Kinda wanting a laberynth to explore rather than Floating islands with stupid mobs that need a full 8 man party to take down so much as a driggen reskined normal mob.

    I tried Diadem yesterday and it was very boring. Everybody running like crazy to attune with aether current, then everybody flying everywhere, then we fight some mobs and it took a long time because half the party was gathering. Once the exploration mission finished, three players left, and the other four started to gathering. A 45 minutes wait for that? Never agains... I like a lot of thing in FF14, but not that. I never had the feeling I was EXPLORING.

    Mindless zerg fests of killing the same enemy over and over is not fun.

    If they can fix that, I would try it again.

    P.S.

    I really like the OP's ideas. They are not exactly what I would want, but I like them. I'd say not remove flying but have it be removed by certain weather conditions or something like that. I love flying but I like to be forced to explore on the ground too. Someone in here posted about having the treasure chests pop in a new location and having it tele you to a mini dungeon or challenge, and having tracking actually be tracking. I love all these ideas except the mini dungeon thing. Just kinda feel that would be a bit hectic, but the other things..... force us to go to every island, or at least a few of the other islands would be great. Less RNG, great. I disagree about the mindless zerg fest. I love coming to diadem to have nice long fights against single targets for once, fights everywhere else in game are over too quickly. Diadem is great just needs some tweaks. have gatherers not be able to loot if they never tagged that particular mob. give vote kick options (Yoshi you said you wanted diadem to be a world where players kinda make their own rules, letting us kick is letting us make our own rules). I do feel it is exploratory but I also do feel its not exploratory enough, MAKE us HAVE to go to various islands for REASONS. make us explore more and make it so everyone doesn't just fly off to fight stuff with the biggest number over its head.

    Gave a like to these ideas. Especially the HNM one. I really thought this would be something like sky or sea, mix it up with additional explorations I would love to go back to this content. Doing HNM with a token system or just have it random two drops would be great.
