This is just stupid. It's stupid in any other game that has solo queue. And guess what? Leaving the game is not a reportable offense in FFXIV!

I actually kinda agree with this, the three that got fked over shouldnt lose points. The person that dc/leaves definitely needs to automatically though. It needs to stay an automatic loss for them to avoid the fake dc's and artificial stat padding.
It definitely sucks to zone into a match with 3 people and having to take the full 30+ point loss in rating ):
Well I can get DC constantly ( no idea why this happens though, I still have the internet it just does it for this game)so getting kicked for getting DC is unfair to the real people.
I can sympathize with your situation to an extent but what's really unfair are the other 3 ppl getting teamed up with you when "DC constantly." You are basically handing every team you DC on a loss everytime that happens through no fault of theirs. If you constantly DC in there probably best to stick with unranked matches then or frontlines.
Ok I suppose I sympathize but you're screwing over the other three people on your team. Even if you DC only for a few seconds you can cost your team the match.
I agree it's dumb and they should change something, but I don't think you should just lose 0 points. If it's anything like wolves den, all of the top guys are going to know each other, and I know if I'm group with some friends and we're losing a game, I would totally unplug my computer and take the DC so they don't lose their rating. There's no incentive not to, especially if one of them is in a diamond qualifier or something.
For random low rank solo matches it's a non-issue, but it's so easily abused. One option is you could say instead of the entire team losing -20 points each, the guy who DCs takes the -80 point hit and the other people lose nothing. Alternatively the guy who DC'ed loses -50 points and the rest of the team loses -10. This makes it so the overall amount of points lost is the same, and it ensures most of the loss goes to the person with the DC. You could apply this to wins as well, so if someone DC's and his team still sneaks out the win, those who didn't get DC'ed will get extra points as they had to work extra hard.
It's not really fair to the guy who DC'ed, but at the same time if you don't have a stable connection you're kind of screwing over your team mates, so a good portion of that should be on you.
