Yes. I was spending upwards of 2 million gil melding each of my Artisan Offhands back in 2.5 or whenever it was. 20+ failures for the last meld was quite common.

How many melds are already on it, though? If there's already 4 then yeah that last one's always a doozy.

i remember melding for a random once failed 4 times on the 4th meld and got the last 1 1st attempt he was stoked.. made me laugh how he got so excited over somethin pretty small lol

Eh, my record is 89 fails on a 12% i think, was the 4th slot on an offhand

Something similar to this 28 fails... on the second meld... With control IV materia..

I lost count at around 110 failed melds on a 5th slot in a tank accessory (bracelet, I think. Tried a lot more, just can't remember when I actually stopped) back in 2.5 and never succeeded. Punishment for fully melded the earrings a week or two earlier in 9 materia...

I kid you not I JUST got through failing some 130+ SpS 3 materias on the fifth slot of my Eikon Ring, I didn't even get it in bc I gave up and logged out lol


Luckily it was only 500k bc those materias don't cost two arms and a leg, but seriously ONE HUNDRED THIRTY 7% Success Fails in a row.....I will be crying myself to sleep tonight.

I was melding the 220 Caster chest and I probably used some 30 to 40 Crit IV's and at least 25 Det IVs. I still haven't gotten that Det IV melded to the last slot.

It took me like 95 attempets to get that Craftmanship IV into the last slot of my earring yesterday... 6%, I pretty much camped the spawn location for the carbonized matter because I didnt had that much in stock...
