Heavensword 3* Crafting Rotation and Macro

Hi everyone! Three star crafting as many folks have pointed out on the forums is very similar to two star crafting. But there are some subtle differences. First as recipe difficulty goes up, the effectiveness of Ingenuity goes down. Likewise as required progress increases the effectiveness of Piece by Piece goes up. Also the Flawless Synthesis cycle is notably longer, potentially allowing for more than one ToT proc. Functionally what this means for three star crafting approaches (in contrast to two star), is rotations which use Flawless Synthesis are still very strong. Likewise Rotations using Piece by Piece are stronger and rotations using Ingenuity are weaker. In general what this means is that versions of Rath's MaMa PbP rotation are best for three star. While variations of my MaMa Careful Synth rotation are acceptable but not optimal. Below I will outline both rotations and how I current recommend they be executed for three star crafting.

Please note the pictures show 2 star items and less flawless synths than you get, MAKE sure to use up al your flawless synths. Also while executing either rotation after your flawless synth cycle, make SURE to check your progress and don't accidentally early complete your good OR fall short from completion! Also note you can use HQ Seafood Stew for these BUT you may need additional base crafting to miss the same flawless synths!

    Video Guide:
    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Cap1ZEyXomQ

Option 1 - Modified version of Rath's MaMa PbP:

Using Rath's modified rotation you must succeed 9 out of 12 Flawless Synthesis. Three are under SH, so statistically you are only attempting to succeed 6 out of 9 flawless. This means you can almost always safely ToT once, and often safely ToT twice. Likewise if you have MAX CP and use SHI (NOT II) you can squeeze out TWO extra 18 point options (precise/basic/innovate). Note if you ToT twice you can use SHII at the end (if executing the MAX CP design). I've listed two versions one for Low CP and one for Max CP. Note that if you have slightly less CP than the low version you can change some of your SHII to SHI.

MaMa PbP (3 Star Low CP) - Required stats 878 Craftsman and 437 CP (Character base stats 850 Craftsman, 389 CP and HQ Baked Onion Soup):

MaMa PbP (3 Star Max CP) - Required stats 878 Craftsman and 470 CP (Character base stats 850 Craftsman, 422 CP and HQ Baked Onion Soup):

Option 2 - Modified version Kat's MaMa Careful Synth:
Below is a picture showing a slightly modified version of my rotation. NOTE that inner quiet was moved out of the FS cycle and you would no longer ToT during FS. This is not ideal, but this allows you to safely miss four FS at 888 craftsmanship (with HQ onion soup). At approximately 920 craftsmanship you should be able to miss five FS.

Without the removal of Inner quiet and ToT from the FS, my method simply can't miss enough FS safely. This unfortunately puts a damper on the rotation as an extra ToT is lovely and a big deal (and part of doing MaMa in the first place). But functionally the below works well enough. If you have max CP you can squeeze out an extra 18 CP for a precise touch or Innovate.

Kat's - MaMa Careful Synth (3 Star) - Required stats 888 Craftsman and 449 CP (Character base stats 860 Craftsman, 401 CP and HQ Baked Onion Soup):

Yulani and myself came up with this 1 through 3 star macro approach. I use this macro for making one through three star materials/recipes which have 70 durability. It will HQ your materials roughly 70-90% of the time and is highly useful for making lots of food, potions, or base leather/cloth/nugget type materials. Note there is 24 extra CP in the picture (which is best used up with a basic touch at the end). TThe big key with the macro below is time to execute. This takes 26 actions as apposed to 40+ actions a flawless synthesis macro takes. It is slightly less powerful, but excels at cranking out food, potions, and intermediate materials. None the less I do frequently use it to make 3 star HQ armor so long as I start with 3k+ quality. Also this has no chance to fail progress! And again hats off to Yulani who helped develop and test this macro/approach!

MuMe PbP (1-3 Star Max CP) - Required stats 874 Craftsman and 446 CP (Character base stats 846 Craftsman, 398 CP and HQ Baked Onion Soup):

Sorry for the delay in posting these. I've been crazy busy. As most folks have talked the jump from 2 to three star with either rotation wasn't overly difficult. All of my FC crafters were able to adjust without consulting me. A few did ask for the updated guide and more importantly the macro. I use the macro all the time and it works SUPER well for saving time.

I will try to post some videos next week!

Creating a melding guide is next on my list (its highly requested in my FC). I would like to see if I can come up with one IV overmeld and no IV overmeld recommendations. I'll see if I can do that today!

Video is available now showing two crafting examples and outlining the approach, tips, and explanations for how to handle different decisions you'll run into while encountering different crafting states.

Nice rotation. I prefer using whistle and nymeia's wheel instead of waste not, but otherwise I do about the same.

this the macro i use for 2 star and 3 star.

my last CSII is under Ingenuity which progress for about 190
means i can have 4x fails on Flawless Synthesis for 100% and its max progress to 99% if no fails with minimum craftsmanship of 850

Thanks very much for this guide and the video. What I really appreciated was the discussion about ToT decision making and suggested starting quality. Last night I approached my 2 and 3 star crafting goals with new confidence and HQ'd them all.

Congratz Ysolde glad you were able to get your HQs! When prepared correctly they aren't too difficult to execute, but they do require proper preparation.

Also thanks SmallHobbit! I'll check out your link. I was getting ready to review 2 and 1 star macros as I really want to be able to do those without thinking too much... I get way too many orders each day even after the patch has calmed down.
