General PVP help and SMN-specific?

I only played 4 matches so far, and it was pretty hectic. I don't have HW so I've only played The Fold (reached lvl50 two days ago).

-Is there a general strategy here? Last time I was told to focus on the healer.

-Related to the above, but both DPS and the Tank were attacking the healer but the thing wouldn't die! Her HP reached almost 20% and then got fully recovered. Like FIVE times! Was that normal?

-SMN-specific, but what things should I focus on? Should I use Ifrit or Garuda's Contagion? (Only thing I was doing was applying Bio2, Miasma, Bio and Fester)

-Does the wait for PVP get better? Waiting for so long can really kill the excitement :/

You're playing a long-dead PVP mode. The general rule of thumb for MMO's is that if you don't have the most current expansion, you're not going to have very many people to play with.
