There is significiant difference between FF world Dragoons and, in example, Tactics Ogre Dragoons.
In TO i agree Dragoons are indeed almost tanks. And indeed Dragon Knights.
In FF its fancy name for semi-plated armored guy with spear and ability to jump 100 metres up to the sky and fall on enemy with a potency of 300.

I always remembered dragoons jumping to avoid damage. Too bad the bosses are the real dragoons here.

Yup, one turn to avoid dmg would be great. actually 100% evade for this 0.9 sec, when derpgoon is in the air, would fix DRG floor spiritbonding jokes.

Yeah, it makes no sense in this game. If you jump to dodge a ball by jumping above it..you don't get hit with it, so why when jumping as a DRG they still take damage? I haaaaaaaate that D:

Your location is still mapped to where you were. If they changed it to where you actually became untargetable for say 1-2 GCD then it would be accurate. Instead it works more like a dash attack. It's a far cry from strategically using the Jump command to avoid damage outright and land an attack.

Seems like only the Bosses like Titan have real Jumps.

There's been many instances in a dungeon where I want to jump a floor hazard I can easily clear with the tap of a button but i still have the effect of heavy til I complete the jump, my feet never touched it though. XIV has weird programming, jump in general has always been used mostly for strategic use but the only statergy in XIV is Hope your network connection is stable and your timing is good because if not you'll be hit even though you're 3 stories in the air.

As I said it's just a really fast dash move. You don't actually "jump" at all.

Blue mage could work in this game.

It can have a gimmick called "devour" where it "eats" the essence of monsters for powerful attacks.

    Perfect for being OT.

And it can an ability called the 'dreadnought" absorbing enemy attacks for powerful defensive cooldowns.

Perfect for being MT and also fits the "theme" of blue mage.

As for weapons I would love to see a savage like dual sword wielding fighting style since BLU mages were good as melee.

Devour only worked if an enemy was 25% HP or lower.
