    Help with boss awareness

Was trying the Cutter's Cry dungeon (as healer of course) on the Chimera boss fight.
I just don't see the messages about when the boss eyes are Blue or Violet to be able to move away. I tried doing a set focus, but it placed it it a spot on the right side of the screen. As a healer I spend a lot of focus on the top left on healing bars while trying to watch AOE effects.
I know I'm not a great player and a new one, but if I can't find a way to make these types of effects simpler/better to notice I will not be able to continue on with much of the game a any higher levels.
    Advice?

That particular fight is a little tricky as the message just appears in the chat log. It's easy to miss. Usually there are more obvious visual cues for the casters/healers, so I wouldn't sweat it too much.

You might also be able to move the focus indicator to the left side by opening the UI menu and moving that box.

Edit: Canadane is right, there is a small text as when your retainer returns from a venture etc. I got that dungeon in the roulette the other day and I did not get that message on my screen, so I must have turned that notification off by accident or moved the UI box to a weird spot. Perhaps the OP had a similar problem.

The one Chimera does give you a UI notice, much like you get when you sell something on the market boards, or you gather something.

I would say to just adjust your UI to fit you better.

For example, i moved my personal buffs/debuffs to above my cross hotbar since more of my attention would be there than at the very top of my screen. I also have my focus target closer to the center of the screen but a bit more to the right so it isnt actually blocking anything, but is still close enough for me to easily see boss cast bars pop up.

    Go adjust your UI.

Healers typically have several important features near the center of the screen. You will want the party list, your target and your focus target UI near the center. The best would be bottom left, bottom right and bottom of where your character is. Left and right of your character is also fine, but you might end up blocking your view of the field.

I also have a special combat log which only shows 2 things; damage done by engaged enemies and abilities being used by engaged enemies. That helps a lot in detecting spells being cast by any enemy, even if you don't have that enemy targeted.

You will also want to have the enemy list UI nearby. It is useful to tell whether you have aggro or are close to pulling aggro by the colours. Red means you have aggro, orange means very close to pulling aggro, yellow means quite close and green is safe. If you do have aggro, remember to run towards the tank and not away from the tank. And if you are close to pulling aggro, use Shroud of Saints or cut down on your overhealing and dps.

What others here are saying, you should take a look on your HUD layout settings. Nearly all persisting elemenst on the screen can be moved, as well as some positions for situational information. As a healer you want to have the focus target window somewhere easy to see, since seeing boss cast bars can be a lifesaver later and as healer you don't target the boss himself all the time if at all. Also moving the party list a bit towards the center lets you have an eye on it easier while still also seeing your surroundings.

If you say 'pls' because it's shorter than 'please', I say 'no' because it's shorter than 'yes'.

    Thanks all for the suggestions!
Quite helpful. I also watched the other party members and that helped too.
The good news is made it past that boss (whew).
Went on then yesterday to Stone Vigil, and got the dragon Isgebind at the end. Fun fight and the visuals on that were good enough to be able to tell.
