Why oh why make a minion drop in PVP?

PvPer mentality in a nutshell. It's so toxic it's insane. "We lost, ugh, everyone else on this team is bad you should all stop playing."

I'm glad PvP is a minority thing in this game. I also disagree with it dropping nice stuff like minions and mounts, but I can wait for the pup to come down in price =/

Umm, that's a PvE mentality to in this game. Have you seen how toxic some clear/farm parties can get in PF?

I don't PVP and I have no issue with them adding a minion to the content.

I'm guessing you guys would rather they sell it on the mog station?

The minion was going for 2-3 million gil last I looked on Ultros.
I'd rather give the PVP a try than wait for that to come down. I need to grind marks anyway to buy the PVP songs since those were also going for millions of gil last time I checked the board.

Changing the drop to wins only wouldn't affect how I play, it would just make me have to play even more matches to get what I want. I do try my best the rare times I PVP, my best just isn't very good (yet).

If the minion is confirmed to drop from the unrated mode I'll happily farm that as I don't wish to bring down more serious competitive players on my team.

The point is to get more people into PvP that might enjoy it. No it's not greifing when a newbie joins. That would be the same as saying a new person in DF is also greifing, since they can't speed run.
