Sounds like a expensive request.
Sounds like a expensive request.
You realize that almost as much as your sub itself even more then then sub if person is on legacy pricing. SE making bank on people with full extra 6 retainers.

So you're suggesting people consider not eating in order to pay for stuff in a video game? That's pretty irresponsible.
I mean, I do agree that it's not a lot of money, and I rather sheepishly pay for four extra retainers to support my omnicrafting and glamour hoarding habits, but I'm not going to defend SE for charging us for a service that should either be included in the cost of the game/subscription fee, or made wholly unnecessary by a little work being put into better coding. There's obviously something very wrong with the way the game handles data storage, considering the devs have been complaining that they don't have enough server space for this or that feature since almost the game's launch, and while I want new content as much as the next player, I doubt I'm the only one who thinks they need to dedicate a patch cycle or two to getting that problem under control while the game is still relatively young and successful, even if it means we get less content overall for a little while.
Other games have systems that let you log glamour items without having to save them. Their own prior MMO apparently has a layaway system where you can trade a full set of gear in for a single token - not a perfect system, but 1 inventory space versus five or ten would be a pretty major improvement.

Pay for a glamour ok, I can accept it, it is a skin, nothing more. But pain for extra services like this shouln't be exist. We pay every month, we shouldn't pay more to have more storage. That's a bit abusive. It is true that no one obligues you to pay for extra retainer, but also, the storage in game is ridiculous minimal. That is good for a free to play game, but not for a sub game. Even this MMO, who price is lower that other MMO, still is too unfair had to pay when you already pay a subscription.

Oh hell no, not saying it's cheap, but then again, as always it's supply and demand, as long as there's people wanting it and it's profitable there'll be people selling it.
Please, glamour log.. or item log.. I want you..
No I am saying don't eat out, save money by taking a lunch from home to work/school with you. It is cheaper. Don't go out to a restaurant for dinner, eat at home, again it is cheaper.
Just went out for a nice dinner with my parents for my fathers birthday tonight and with a coupon for a free meal for him it cost us $70. Eating out is way more expensive then buying food from a grocery store and making your own lunch/dinner.
There are ways to cut down your expenses to afford it.
Now whether you do that or not it's none of our business, but it is objectively quite a silly idea that we have to "save" extra real money to add more space in a game, a pay to play game no less!
Seriously, in almost all p2p games I've played and even f2p ones, the storage space was always bought with in-game money with SOME exceptions that was only there as an additional thing: in GW2 for example the space is well done, to the point that i never felt to add additional slots for my bags. Even in f2p games they just charge you once per character - sometimes per account - and that's it.
Heck, even in SWTOR the storage space was better done and the glamour is far superior too. And I despise SWTOR as a f2p game!
I would've purchased a retainer or two if it was a one time purchase, but an additional fee just for the space? Sorry, I rather spend that extra 12 bucks on something more important.
Suffice to say, I don't live with FFXIV alone.

I can't remember the last time I ate at a restaurant. I think it's been ten years or so. Last bought some nuggets at a McDonald's over a year ago.
Please, do tell me why I should pay more than twice the ADVERTISED monthly price for playing the game, why I need to cut down on food expenses even more to get what should be the default.
The only thing this will do is further broaden the divide between the haves and the have-nots, something that really, really, REALLY shouldn't be a thing in a computer game like this.
I'm not going to get into the pay-to-win argument, because no one ever agrees on the definition of winning in an MMO, but can we at least agree that having 8 retainers gives you a massive advantage over those who only have two? With 8 retainers you get to have two fishers, two botanists, two miners, AND two battle-classes, while the people who don't pay extra get to choose which two are most important to them.

You don't need to, normally you'll suffice with the latest gear for all your classes.
However, with the way the raids are designed, all old gear becomes obsolete very, very fast.
It's just my way of not invalidating what I've gathered in the past I guess?
Say I've collected all Allagan gears. I am loath to part with them, I can still enjoy the game if I don't have them as they're irrelevant at this point of time. They even allowed us to craft it with different colors.
Let's just say different people gain enjoyment from different things..

Yes, it gives you advantage. You can farm more items with them, sell them, also have more space to farm more items, etc. I totally agree this feature shoulnd't exist in this game. People paying more having more things sounds liek a "pay to win" game. Please, do tell me why I should pay more than twice the ADVERTISED monthly price for playing the game, why I need to cut down on food I'm not going to get into the pay-to-win argument, because no one ever agrees on the definition of winning in an MMO, but can we at least agree that having 8 retainers gives you a massive advantage over those who only have two?
