Let's say I just created 20 new threads, each containing an identical advertising message. SE would act IMMEDIATELY. The threads would be gone, my account would be blocked, and I would never be welcome back. I'd wager it would happen in a matter of minutes.

That isn't what happens to any of the people that spam "<Server> Static looking for <job(s)>" threads that get put into every single server forum until the poster hits their daily limit.

There's at least a few per week.

Lol yeah that's the best, had GM say just take the folks off top of black list and add new ppl, old ones 'taken care of', but alas, get respammed minutes later by month old bots.

If you don't really have much use for them, you could edit the /tell's so they are filtered out of your chatbox, and also remove the sound ringing with them.

That way there is SOOOOOO much peace... seriously...

It's less frequent. You shouldn't have to move servers to avoid it though.

This person is most wise. My experience in game was so much nicer after doing this. You lose /tell functionality, but thanks to RMT almost nobody on Siren uses it anymore anyway.

Gordon does have a point, though. SE has done a rather poor job of taking care of the issue. Many people have discussed this and provided valid ideas for solving the RMT dilemma.

We should keep complaining. Make all the new threads. A service we pay for is being impacted by something they're not doing enough to solve. It's almost to a point where it feels like a conspiracy.

But thank god I'm on Masa, I never get any RMT tells. But I've spent time visiting other servers, I feel for ya.

Another work around is to put yourself on /dnd. Can't receive tells that way.

Then you cant get team invites, then you cant trade, end up with FC/LS chat full of "Hey, you're set to busy, cant invite/trade." not an answer.

Us providing 'solutions' or the ever brilliant telling folks how to use basic game settings isn't the way either, it is well and truly out of hand especially on my server, 2 a minute at least, some 2-3 paragraphs long.

We need to keep pointing to SE's epic and unmitigated failure in this department until (oh one can hope...) SE fixes it on their end.

But again, if RMT is not an issue on Asian servers, they may never notice what happens on poor lil Coeurl...

SE needs to fix it, but us giving suggestions so people can try and get through the game without flipping a table and storming out isn't a bad thing.
