Nobody's defending thievery. What they're saying is that it could have been prevented if permissions were set up correctly. Giving tons of people access to the FC chest and its contents is very much akin to leaving your front door unlocked when you leave the house. If your TV is gone when you get home, you're at least partially responsible for that loss because you didn't lock up.
