So what happens if someone that buys a Zu mount from me, used illegal gil to make the purchase?

Let me start of by saying I really hope, and doubt, anyone that has purchased one wouldn't be dumb enough to do that, but it worries me in the long run. I figure people with all 60s across the board legitimately made the gil, but you never know.

If that gil they used is illegal, am I out not only tens of millions of Gil, but also the mount itself?

Is there some sort of clarification somewhere on these type of things?

SE does have the ability to confiscate gil, they have done it in the past.

To make it completely right, they would need to confiscate the gil, ban the purchaser's account, return the mount to the seller and communicate the necessary details of the situation to them.

That's why I said "the necessary details."

Something along the lines of:

"Hi, this is GM-Pigduck. A user purchased something from you using gil bla bla bla obtained illegally bla bla bla we're going to have to confiscate the money from you, but we will return to you the item that had been sold for it. Enjoy the game yada yada"

Generally, removal from down the chain of unrelated parties isn't standard practice because of so many variables to unnecessarily deal with (and likely be in the wrong for as a GM or whatever). While it's possible for such a thing to happen in any game, it's not probable in the slightest.
