Why is win trading such an accepted part of this game?

Well that's not entirely true in these cases. The devs/GMs/SE are the ones who have the final say on any matter that goes on within the game. If it weren't the case, there wouldn't be any bans done for whatever reasons. We, the players, determine the norms/etiquette/etc within the grounds of what the devs are fine with.

I think you may have understood. I am not suggesting that Devs have 0 control over how players act. I was simply saying that just because the devs may be fine with it, it doesn't mean that discussing it is irrelevant and that nothing can be done.

It's pretty sad that we need hard-coded or worded rules in order to behave like adults. Silly that cheating is a thing.

Ah got it. Agreed, especially in a game, but that's the reality of the world unfortunately. To be fair on that end though, I did used to use things like Game Genie a lot as a kid, but that was mostly to just for fun and it had absolutely no relevance to other players nor the people who created it, obviously lol.

Oh for sure. TBH I think cheating in a single player game for self enjoyment is fine. Cheating in a multiplayer environment (especially in a competitive one such as PvP) is not.

When I played Skyrim I was derping in the beginning and had to do the same part over twice, and the 2nd death I was liek f that I am gonna turn on god mode rawr (just to catch up to where I was and turn it off). Issue was, I also added a Fireball (Test) cheat not knowing what it was. Turned out it was a instant cast, high damage spell with 0 resource cost. I wasn't able to actually remove it, and it ended up being hella fun to use. I raced through the entire game using this spell - the shame (but so fun).
