I'm curious to know where SE ever mentioned that they want PvP to be an E-Sport.

I play on arguably one of the smallest servers, everyone I know seems to do at least a bit of pvp even though their main focus is on pve. I'm sure plenty of people enjoy pvp and I sincerely doubt developing a few pvp modes is the cause for the delay. Isn't it a bit selfish to assume because you don't like something that no time should be invested in it by others?
The pvp queues are slow because they're being bottlenecked by the grand company thing, right?
The only change for PVP required is to allow the Duty Finder for PvP to cover all data centers for a particular region.
By this I mean that all JP data centers would act as 1 for PvP Duty Finder, all NA data centers would act as 1 for PvP DF, and Europe would be screwed....er... No, but seriously, Europe must be included too, so which ever of JP or NA has lower latency from Europe would include the European data center - most likely this would put them back with NA for PvP DF.
Actually, it would be beneficial for 24-man raids to get similar treatment, the LoA, ST and WoD have pretty well horrible Q times and would benefit from a wider selection of potential players. Though they might have to make some adjustments to protect players against lag.
I'd suggest that any full-party or alliance content be considered for such treatment as the number of players Qing for this type of older full-party or alliance content wains.

PvP gears shouldn't get their rank requirements removed. And the weapons need some unique glowing effect. The i180 and i205 sets were terrible.
Lets add to the stuff we all dislike(don't do) and why is it in the game.
Diadem has been mostly DOA. More resources probably spent on that then pvp since 3.0
Airships for FC. Content locked behind housing Free companies can't all access.
The minion mini game. Hell I couldn't even remember its name.
Alexander savage. Completion rate, what you say pre 3.2?
Lots of stuff in the game has no interest for a lot of players. 3.0 has suffered more from poor development cycles more then anything else. I am not the boss, I am not running an MMO in my free time. But the three month cycle has failed in 3.0 hell this last patch was suppose to be three months, start of November end of February is splitting the three month wording awfully close.
Good luck. Yoshida seems to be a PvP guy.
I don't even like the PvP in this game but I wouldn't remove a game mode that other people might enjoy.
In order for an MMO to be successful all types of content is a must. Because this is how you attract and keep an audience.
Nobody (or close to nobody) just raids. The player might do beast tribe quests on their free time, or chase ponies. Nobody just crafts. They might be interested in gathering, the gold saucer, or PvP. And that is what keeps the game good. Because when you're not doing your primary focus, you still have something to do.
That being said, the previous guy mentioned Diadem. Here's me in Diadem yesterday.
Before diadem came out, I didn't do fishing that much. Fishing on a timer with a possibility of a chest spawning and not bad profits though really intrigued me, so it's my main source of income right now. My free company mates actually go and kill in diadem. Now that there's no huge crowds they find it exciting. They like to challenge themselves and see how many people they require to kill specific ranks. If diadem never existed there would be one less thing for them to be excited about.
And that applies to all content. If we got a very limited range of content that "one less thing" would add up. Until that MMO next door would have one more thing. And would end up being so much more appealing.
Frontline queues are slow because of GC queuing imbalances (72 people could be queuing, but if its 8 Adders 24 Flames and 40 Maelstrom only a single 24 man match will be happening) and nothing to correct those imbalances (the ability to queue mercenary and a GC in need bonus would benefit things).
