Lets add to the stuff we all dislike(don't do) and why is it in the game.
Diadem has been mostly DOA. More resources probably spent on that then pvp since 3.0
Airships for FC. Content locked behind housing Free companies can't all access.
The minion mini game. Hell I couldn't even remember its name.
Alexander savage. Completion rate, what you say pre 3.2?
Lots of stuff in the game has no interest for a lot of players. 3.0 has suffered more from poor development cycles more then anything else. I am not the boss, I am not running an MMO in my free time. But the three month cycle has failed in 3.0 hell this last patch was suppose to be three months, start of November end of February is splitting the three month wording awfully close.

I'd love to see more difficult content like this but it won't happen if more mid core content isn't developed and if we don't get a real end game. Frankly it looks like a combination of a lack of development resources as well as poor implementation of what they want to develop.
Hail Nanamo. Glory to Lalafell kind.
Good luck. Yoshida seems to be a PvP guy.
I don't even like the PvP in this game but I wouldn't remove a game mode that other people might enjoy.
In order for an MMO to be successful all types of content is a must. Because this is how you attract and keep an audience.
Nobody (or close to nobody) just raids. The player might do beast tribe quests on their free time, or chase ponies. Nobody just crafts. They might be interested in gathering, the gold saucer, or PvP. And that is what keeps the game good. Because when you're not doing your primary focus, you still have something to do.
That being said, the previous guy mentioned Diadem. Here's me in Diadem yesterday.
Before diadem came out, I didn't do fishing that much. Fishing on a timer with a possibility of a chest spawning and not bad profits though really intrigued me, so it's my main source of income right now. My free company mates actually go and kill in diadem. Now that there's no huge crowds they find it exciting. They like to challenge themselves and see how many people they require to kill specific ranks. If diadem never existed there would be one less thing for them to be excited about.
And that applies to all content. If we got a very limited range of content that "one less thing" would add up. Until that MMO next door would have one more thing. And would end up being so much more appealing.

I'm laughing so hard right now. Thank you for waking me up completely.
PvP in this game is an established mini-game and it's most likely not taking up nearly as many resources as I believe you think it's taking up. There are plenty of other things in this game people would consider a waste of development time that actually had more resources put into it, but that will always be a matter of opinion because a few people out there might completely love said feature. Also, why would you be complaining about MORE options being added to the game?
If you want to really see who considers pvp a fun and engaging part of the game if you was to take away the rewards and much better created outfits you would see the true amount of people who would enjoy the erroneously misdirected development time. The majority of people who pvp do so solely for the carrot on a stick. Option for weekly cap and superior looking armor and a nice little floating air ship mount to boot of course it will be popular for those items.

Same could be said about all content. That's just a poor argument. If you want to really see who considers pvp a fun and engaging part of the game if you was to take away the rewards and much better created outfits you would see the true amount of people who would enjoy the erroneously misdirected development time. The majority of people who pvp do so solely for the carrot on a stick. Option for weekly cap and superior looking armor and a nice little floating air ship mount to boot of course it will be popular for those items.
take out the rewards from Savage. See how many people do Savage. If you want to really see who considers pvp a fun and engaging part of the game if you was to take away the rewards and much better created outfits you would see the true amount of people who would enjoy the erroneously misdirected development time. The majority of people who pvp do so solely for the carrot on a stick. As for PvP I don't stand a chance to rank up to get the ugly ugly swan costume for WHM anyway, so I'm literally doing it for fun.
They took the rank requirements off of all pvp gear.
Feel free to buy whatever you want at whatever rank you're at
