The deleting friends issue..

Anyone else annoyed by this issue of one-sided friendlist deletes?
Incase someone doesn't know, when you delete someone from your friendslist, unless the other person deletes you too, you stay on their friendslist.. forever.. Why is the system this way?

If I delete someone, I want them GONE! Friendships come.. and friendships go.. don't get me started on how this can be badnews for people that have accepted those friend spam requests on accident..

Even if you blacklist someone you have previously added and deleted, you remain on their list.. ( I have tested this with a friend)

Now I don't have anyone I am having issues with or anything, but I just think this system is a little weird.. and I think if you delete someone, they should be deleted from your list, and you should be deleted from theirs..

While blacklists should be one way, this friend deletion thing is the reason I don't delete people. Unless I'm blacklisting them. This one-sided thing means I can keep track of their location and avoid them like the plague.

I have to ask, how in heaven's name do you pull that one off!? Whenever I go to delete a friend I get a confirmation telling me if I want to delete the friend. Plus, I can tell by the difference in size in the pop-up window that I goofed and selected the wrong option. What am I missing here?

I usually delete randomly added people (who add me after some dungeon and such) when I don't communicate with them for a month or two, what's the point to keep them if we are not really freinds. And then half year later I get a tell from someone 'hey, can you help with this' and I'm like 'Huh... who is it?..' So yes, it's an issue for me. I have only around 10 active friends but probably in 50-70 other random people's friendlists.

So the takeaway from this is: READ THE POP-UPS!

I mean maybe I'm just way too attentive, but still (I have to admit, for Leviathan for example, I don't use visual cues to work out where I need to go, I use audible cues - surround sound is a godsend), I pay attention to stuff like that.

hmhm.. That's actually good to know, thanks! I always had issues deleting people that weren't online for a long time, but I never wanted to delete them just in case they come back (good friends that is). At least now I know I can safely make place for new people and the old ones can still find me just in case they come back!!! whoop
