Yes because the very first thing people put into a back up plan is "how can we keep an online video game running". That should never even be in the top 500 on a back-up plan.

In any case, SE has the right to do whatever they damn well please with their servers and their data, it's in the contract you agree to when you sign up to play. The fact that, in this case, they're doing it for a good reason simply means you have even less ground to stand on with your complaints. Grow up, you're not going to die just because you don't have a video game, people in Japan can (and will) die if they don't have electricity.

The fact you cannot recognize the problem in your comments, after having them quoted several times only furthers to support my view.

There is no 'backup plan' for a natural disaster for a video game server. Why? Because there are more important things in the world. Don't like it? Get a job in the industry, and change it.

Least some of us here follow through with our words, and do the little we can support what we believe in. (IE: Those who were able to make a donation to the Red Cross)

@ Alienbaby, having backup of the server would make no difference, they have planned nation wide blackouts in order to conserve power, 3 of there nuclear power plants could go into meltdown because of this Tsunami. watch the news instead of trolling on here pissing people off. I could not care less about a video game when the lives of over 12,000 people have already been lost, i would not want to think of what could happen if just one of those power stations goes pop.
